- ESPN.com's Tim Griffin Covers Big 12Texas Tech 45, Houston 44: Get out your calculators and prepare to stay up late to watch the end of this one. It should be an entertaining contest between two of the nation’s top quarterbacks in Texas Tech’s Taylor Potts and Houston’s Case Keenum. The Red Raiders stuck with Texas last week until deep in the fourth quarter when turnovers and penalties finally caught up with them. But Potts passed for 430 yards in an impressive road debut. He’ll be facing another challenge against Houston, which stunned then-No. 5 Oklahoma State two weeks ago before taking last week off. It will be the first matchup between the two old Southwest Conference rivals since the conference dissolved in 1995. The No. 18 Cougars will be playing as a ranked team for the first time since 1991 -- when David Klingler was their quarterback. The Red Raiders have a better defense than Oklahoma State and are familiar with Houston because they face a variation of the Cougars’ spread offense every day in practice. That should provide them with just enough of an edge to boost them to win a wild victory.
- ESPN.com’s Graham Watson Covers Non-AQHouston 45, Texas Tech 41: There are few games I’m looking forward to more than this one. After watching Houston withstand Oklahoma State’s comeback and come away with a win, I was impressed by the Cougars and like their chances especially in front of the largest crowd in their stadium’s history. There will be offense, but look for the Houston secondary to be very active against Tech quarterback Taylor Potts, who’s already thrown four picks.

Really wow I hate to say anything good about ut but they’re the best team in the big 12 right now
to put them at number 3 is basically saying Tulsa would have had a chance in Austin and not been blown out
I also don't like people over hyping OU before Bradford is back Jones put up good numbers against Tulsa but a lot of his throws sailed on him and against um or ut most of them would be picks.
his page is blocked at work so will get home tonight and she what the reason is behind that.
for me right now it would look like this
1 UT
2 OU
3 KU
4 OSU
5 NU
6 BU
7 TTU
8 UM
I know Blake and red raider and probly capt mike aren’t going to talk but I really don't care lol
that was week one, his picks havent panned out
oh my bad lol on myself
no surprises here
not as much as you hate tech.
I really want UH and TCU to up the BCS and go unbeaten. Tech has a better chance of winning this weekend than Clemson does, in my opinion. The Prairie Pirates can score 70 or 21 depending on what kind of package UH's DC throws at them. Dabo's a moron and Patterson can exploit that.
Blake, you're a smart guy (for a Tech grad). I found this when I was trying to figure out who to bet on this weekend. Criticisms are very welcome.

I think to talk about UH going undefeated and f-ing up any BCS will have to wait until this weekend.
They are first-timers to any big college football scene....Tech has not made it to a BCS game, but they have beaten a lot of good teams....
We shall see.....
to all people anti-Tech....I told you so! Tech will win this game!
more jgw semi-ameteur sports opinions
Oh how you forget your sports blunders as of late
whats wrong with picking Houston? and tekk isn't a good road team.
i only understood every third word of this post. Can someone determine if the rest of it is equally as ty?
dont be an idiot. baylor lost to uconn
Is it me or is Blake on the ultra defensive in this thread. I wonder if all Tech fans around this great state are truly nervous but being defensive to cover up their true feelings.
Blake you should be nervous and your team better win. Afterall, you are the Big 12 big coming to town expected to put a whooping on a lowly CUSA foe. I mean thats what Big 12 Tech fan was thinking before the season started.
lol youre defensive also
Show me in this thread where I have been defensive about the Coogs. I've been realistic in stating multiple times that tech may win. I haven't come at anyone for saying anything about the coogs like Blake is when someone says UH will win or anything about tech.
Even if I am showing some defensiveness (like in this post), I am not nervous nor set myself up to be disappointed as Blake is. I may be wrong but has Blake even conceded that UH might win?
Plus I offered Blake a hug earlier and he ignored it. I tried.![]()

good read. I wonder how sonny s offense is doing nowadays
lol why should i be nervous about any game this year....especially a nonconference game. what is the difference between u of h turd fans and sex and the city? the cougars on sex and city have actually had sex with other women
Haha. That was creative.
I'm just happy with the added attention UH is getting as result of our ooc Big 12 scheduling. It is paying off win or lose.
I hope the college football world will see a classic tomorrow regardless of who wins.
I'm sure we all are in agreement to raise our glasses to hot cougars![]()
As an aside, I'm all for blaming Houston for the cool to bang older women movement if it's convenient. That is a master stroke of marketing...when I was a kid, dragging home a woman a little too old to be at the bar was a Hail Mary heave to your penis.
This is the best game this weekend in my opinion. Take that for what it's worth.
And Tech is still Tech. UH actually has a heisman trophy winner
Yeah tech is still tech.....upsetting top ten teams every season! Everyone loves to hate us....just the way I like it!
Due to my one summer session at UH twelve years ago, I guess I'm somewhat of a Cougar High fan. One thing I know, those kids can DRINK, unless there's some pussification over the last decade. I wonder how rowdy that crowd's going to be - I've never been to the stadium there - with this late of a kickoff. Not many fan bases can outdrink the Tech mudflap Ducks Unlimited crowd but I'd say that Robertson will be loud and obnoxious with both sets there. This would have been a cool ESPN Gameday stop.
