Pink Floyd. Don't know if I would love them so much if I had grown up back then though. Part of their appeal to me is that they go so far back and still attract so many people my age today. That doesn't mean that the main reason I love them isn't their music however
Obviously wasn't born in the 70's, but for me (gathered from my fathers record collection and many hours of listening) the list is:
1) Pink Floyd
2) Jethro Tull
3) Led Zepplin
With some Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Roxy Music/Brian Eno thrown in for good measure...
