hes definitely got a better arm than Pennington, and is like 6'2 - 6'3, which is pretty decent height for a QB. and he has packed on quite a bit of muscle since his early days. he can definitely take the beating.

McCoy definitely has the tools for an NFL QB. will he succeed? who knows, but you are selling him short.

Sanchez's arm is stronger. And he's taller. GMs go for that every time. Even Chutchinson got multiple chances.

First the use of the term "nuthugger" which basically means anything blake wants it to mean.
Second the implication that any VY fan loses sleep when he throws INT in the NFL.

Vince Young is the in my mind, he will always the best college QB of all time in my eyes, and I only want him to succeed in the NFL. Who cares if VY fans get happy when he wins a game? They're not supposed to be happy because he's not among the best NFL QBs? It's like people think you can only support your college team's QB if it's a given they are "really good" at the next level. So stupid.

If Colt wins a le, I will hope him all the best in the NFL, hope he suceeds like a mother er. But I won't follow him or his team nearly as much. First of all, Vince is just flat out fun to watch. Second, Colt would be a normal rookie QB with little to no chance of starting as a rookie like VY did.

This thread is re ed. Why can't I follow the ans bc of VY? I am not a Texans fan but do root for them as they are a Texas team. When they come time to play the Chiefs or Jags then bets off, Texans must lose. Anyone else, pretty much going to pull for the Texans, naturally.
I was just hoping to see a natl televised game in which Vince schooled some mother ers.
The dude was washed up according to all the same experts on ESPN who are now fighting amongst each other to either A: see who can suck on his the most B: who can ac ulate the most from said and C: who can mention the word suicide the most on tv.
I've been following the ans since Vince was drafted much the same I follow the Texans, sort of with a mild amusement and will root for them as long as they don't play the Chiefs or Jags.

And no Colt doesn't get the attention deserved, but I would not say coming from the longhorn fanbase but from the natl media. I mean the dude set a NCAA record for most ing wins.....EVER but all you hear about is teblow who set a conference record and converted 6 Haitian orphans to christianity at half time of the last scrub team they played.

Will Colt surpass Vince in popularity/legend? Maybe, maybe not. Def depends on whether or not he single handedly beats Florida.
Will he make it in the NFL, I hope so. In fact I was, emphasis on was, hoping the Chiefs would lose out so they could get no 1 and draft him. I can't stand that Cassel and would rather have a potentially weak armed colt as the qb than that overpaid chode cassel.

As an outside observer, it is almost sad to see Colt not getting his full due from a good majority of VY lovers. I really do think VY would have proven just what he is proving in the pros if he had stayed - he's an amazing talent that is a head case and gets injured and disappears in the face of adversity.

Colt has already proven to be the winningest QB ever but unless he wins the BCS, he will always just be the next Major or Chrissy.

I'm like the majority of UT fans, I guess. I will always have a soft spot for VY because he led us back into consistent national prominence. And as someone who thought Snead would beat Colt out, I owe him an apology. Even if the Horns win out I think he'll stay at Major-level amongst the UT pantheon, beneath Vince.

I really never thought I'd see a national le for my school in football. We were so damn mediocre I thought we'd turn into Minnesota or Arizona State when I was there. I was schoolgirl giddy in 05. I couldn't believe it was happening - I still have the Rose Bowl on my laptop. Now we're already talking about a second in a fistful of years and we have the winningest QB in history under center?

We need to have Colt win a le before having this discussion. I think most diehards will choose Vince because of the national relevancy issue and the epic SC game. Colt's got three games to go, hopefully. I got no problem with a jersey retirement or anything if the Horns lose somewhere along the line, but VY was the last UT QB to hoist the crystal football.

But I like Vince. He gave Horns fans a memorable season and he is obviously the most popular Longhorn ever. Its not hard to believe that people would follow him and want him to do well in the NFL. You see that all the time among college towns.

And he has a bigger frame, better technique and was coming from a pro-style offense.

As prospects, they aren't remotely close. I'd guess late 2nd/early 3rd at best as of now. Reminds me of Drew Stanton.

Brown's O does him no favors in preparing him for the NFL. Colt is simply too raw in terms of things he'll be asked to do in the NFL and needs to sit for a while and get the proper coaching to become a legitimate NFL QB.

I mean he isn't asked to make NFL reads or throws, at least not on a consistent basis.

One of the draft guys showed a stat where Colt has the highest percentage of throws under 5 yards of any QB that will be draft eligible.

He needs to ace the combine, IMO.

To the dude who quoted the CJ stats and VY stats...CJ put up those numbers while Collins was the starter and they were still getting the beat out of them. Including a near 60 pt ball stomper. OBVIOUSLY somehting has changed and since the only personnel change has been qb...

Also you never hear "XXX RB has led his team to XXX amount of wins" no matter how many yards or TD's in a game. QB's win games, for better or worse, so that's how Vince is getting measured. The dude has a ing 8 game win streak and is a 2 to 1 winner in the nfl. not shabby.

Colt will probably never exceed Vince for the exact reason already stated, Vince turned the program around. Colt is not THE guy on the team.

Sean Canfield should go pretty high in the NFL draft. Dude is 6-4 and has a great arm. He's 2nd in the nation (behind Colt) in completion percentage as well.

Actually people love Colt. Longhorn fans love just about all their players not named Chris Simms.

And as far as Colts NFL prospects go, he does have adequate height and is a legit 6-2. Seen him in real life. Easily taller than 6-0. Where he is small, in NFL terms, is frame wise. He's got all the tools, especially the mental aspect of the position. He doesn't have a big arm like a ler or a Favre, but he definetly has a stonger arm than a Pennington.

I don't think he gets picked high, which is a good thing. I hope he goes to a team with a veteran QB at the end of his career and gets to sit for a season or two.
