10.31 is the average point differential for every NBA game played this season, not the average of each team's individual point differential.
If every game was decided at the average point differential, and every team went 41-41, then every's teams point differential would be 0 but the average game in the NBA obviously would be some other number.
The difference is that mixed in to the Spur's data series for point differential are losses - my analysis didn't care who wins or loses... it is just the # of points that the average game is decided by.
