Cool Bowen was dirty, like I said you wont hear me argue that he was a saint. I dont see how you compare him to Posey though, not after Posey pulled this off on OUR franchise player. If he went out and did it to a VC, a Ray, or an Amare, or someone else from another team than allright I could see your point...but he did it to Tim Duncan. The face of this franchise. Its a slap in the face to Duncan to want Posey on this team after that. Thats the equivalent of Suns fans wanting Horry after the hip check or Sonics/Nets fans wanting Bruce after he injured their star players' ankles.

I agree with the general tenor of your post, and I love Bruce, but I've gotta say that Bowen was occasionally cheap and dangerous. Specifically, I thought that when he stepped under jump shooters' feet, particularly the time VC sprained his ankle (and I'm pretty sure the same thing happened with Ray Allen), that was pretty dirty.

I freely admit it - most of the time Bruce was just on the legal side of the line, sometimes he stepped over it.

The HUGE difference that I see in this situation is that Bruce did everything he did, however you view it, with the clock running during play. I don't ever recall even one dead ball cheap shot or trip attempt.

VERY good point. I think to compare Bowen with Posey is ludicrous. Bruce many times may have stepped over the line, but it was seldom ever so blatantly obvious as Posey. He just go and hit people, no matter the clock, no matter the cir stances, no matter anything.

He is just a cheap-shot bas , seriously.

Posey also undercut Ginobili in the 4th quarter. Gino went up for an offensive board and Posey stepped into him then walked two more steps under him, taking his legs out...causing Manu to fall to the floor.
