This should be a lop sided poll since the obvious answer is no.

2000 - Tim Duncan was injured

2001 - David Stern hates the Spurs and wanted the Lakers to win this series since they're the bigger market.

2002 - Big market bias, same one that cheated the Spurs in 2000.

2004 - The 2003 Spurs were just that good so after realizing the Spurs had game 5 won the secretly swapped in a ball that had a magnetic attraction to the hoop so Fisher's shot would go in.

2006 - Since they had to ensure the Spurs wouldn't repeat even after doing everything they could to stop the Spurs from winning in 2005, they had Argentinian mercenaries kidnap Manu Ginobili's mother and threaten to kill her if he didn't foul Dirk.

2008 - Manu was injured plus after realizing the epic mistake it was to suspend Joey Crawford for the 2007 playoffs and forgot just how good the Spurs are (CIA Pop tricked them into it), they had him fix a game for the Lakers that the Spurs obviously deserved to win.

2009 - Duncan and Manu were injured.

Clearly the Spurs should be 1999-2009 champions.
No, because if not for the anti-small market conspiracy, the Spurs would have added better free agents or made more steal trades on the cheap to get them over the hump.

Of course the Spurs have lost playoff series legitimately. I think of it like this:

If the league is rigged for teams like the Spurs to fail, then how good are the Spurs to be so successful over the last decade. It would be a testament to what the Spurs can accomplish even when everything is stacked against them. Not many other teams can really say that.

One more thing. If the league has always been trying to keep small market teams down, then wouldn't every game or series be legitimate since that is the normal?

I guess this is the default excuse whenever Manu plays like in a series.

When Manu/Parker play well - They're the greatest
When Manu/Parker play horribly - They were injured

All spur fans think this way. It would be hilarious if it wasn't so sad. It's not hard to see why San Antonio is the 3rd dumbest city in the nation.

The site would be half as large if you cut out all the bandwagoners. Where would the fun be in that?

Considering the bandwagoners say the hilarious stuff about conspiracy theories you're right it wouldn't be fun at all.

Probably the same way HarlemHeat became a Spurs fan in New York.

Maybe if David Stern knew there were more Spurs fans in big markets like New York he wouldn't have the Illuminati and underground American Gestapo working against them.

Dude, all of our losses are "legit"... the other team won, we went home and hoped on being better next season. One of Pop's main themes is not blaming the refs.

That said, it still doesn't mean questionable is simply not questionable.. when you watch basketball a while and understand the rules, you don't have to be a genius to opine on a bad call..

I'm not saying there weren't bad calls. Every playoff series has some questionable calls. The Spurs have had some that helped them and some that didn't, like every other team. I'm saying there was no collective effort from Stern and the refs to ensure the Spurs lost.

    What the heck?

    It is what it is.

Just because our boys were injured, what if the other guys were injured?

    Would you say the same?

I know this is tongue in cheek, but why give more ammunition to other fans concerning us?

The Fakers were clearly the better team early in the decade, and 2004, 2006, 2008 were just bad luck - no conspiracy. I think 2004 was the worst because it clearly took Fisher longer than 0.4 to get that shot off, but I'm not sure we would have beaten the Pistons that year. 2006, OTOH, was Manu's fault and a terrible shame because we would have crushed the Heat, and 2008 was too, but not really - sometimes you get injured, them's the breaks.

Now THAT is total BULL .

Were 30 teams vying forthe trophy in those years? Did any of those other teams win the ultimate prize? No? Then STFU.

Well son, in 1999, there are only 29 teams, otherwise, totally legit.
