This reminds me of the WCF in 1995 when we were playing the Rockets. I read an article in the paper and they were asking Houstonians why they hate San Antonio. I remember one of the answers being "because they don't know how to make good mexican food like we do."

    Sure....

Oh, and I have had a lot of good carne guisada here in san antonio, but I had been looking for one that was clearly above the rest for a while. I found it in Casa Posada on Grissom but it has two problems. First it is inconsistant: about 80-85% of the time it is the best I have had, the remaining it is too salty, or tastes like someone missed an ingredient. Secondly, their tortillas aren't great. They aren't bad, but just average.

Blanco cafes oven roasted peppered brisket( the meat is soft like butter) Tacos are the fvckin bomb! I like to add a slice of jalapeno, onions, pickles, red salsa, then finish it with off with a teaspoon of Rudy's BBQ sauce. Drink it up with a Shinner bock or homemade limeade. Lunch/Dinner of Tejano champions!

    Sorry.

San Antonio is not as good as austin in breakfast tacos.

Milagros is one of the best breakfast taco places.

Whataburger taquitos = good bfast tacos according to Mono.

So it's no surprise they like the hipster bfast tacos like fuzzy's at TCU and UNT.

TACODELI Try El Popeye— spinach and scrambled eggs with crumbled queso fresco. 1500 Spyglass Drive (Barton Skyway), (512) 732-0303, tacodeli.com.
I get the Popeye on whole wheat and have them add ham & fresh jalapenos. My favorite breakfast taco right now.

TacoDeli also makes their bean & cheese w/ refried black beans and jack cheese. Another simple favorite that goes really well with their Dona salsa - it looks like an avocado green sauce but is actually whipped jalapenos. Just awesome.

Dude, look at the next Top Ten fattest cities list... The proof is in the pudding (or gravy-drenched beef tips, as it were).

as far as big cities go..

San Antonio completely s on austin when it comes to tex mex cuisine.

But, austin's busy lifestyle has allowed the bfast taco to flourish in that city.

In San Antonio making breakfast tacos is foolish since everyone makes them at home, or everyone has a grandma who does it for them. In austin, they have their grandmas in retirement homes doing .

If you want superior breakfast tacos.. you'll find them west of Georgetown, Texas. After that, every asshole puts cheese on their bfast tacos. That is re ed in smacks of ignorance of tradition.

This is the original bfast taco,.

    Homemade tortilla
    scrambled eggs with potatos
Homemade y as f* salsa verde.

The tortilla is only forty percent of the flavor.

It's all about the richness of the salsa verde and the right cooking time of the potatoes and eggs. They can't be two raw and saltless, or too cooked and salty. Just right.

IF you have some bad ass salsa, it will make up for the costco tortilla.

do you like la mexicana on s first?

I liked this place a lot at one point, but I ordered a bean and cheese taco, took a bite out of it and got a mouthful of the biggest onion you've ever seen. I can't stand onions so its pretty bad for me, but I don't think I'm alone in preferring tacos to come only with what I ordered in them.

And wtf is a wrap? Its a burrito fool, get it right.

My vote goes to Cristan's Tacos, but it's been a personal favorite since I was a little kid.
