Your a moron if you think the Mavs had stacked squads for the era prior to Nash's departure. Mavs were nothing more than a perennial playoff participator during Nash's era, superb offense in sheer contrast to mediocre defense. Not until he left Dallas did the team start to strut into the elite's range. TBF the only squads Mavs have every built up worth mentioning "stacked" are just those of 05-06 and 06-07, and the current one.

The prime Findog could date from as early as late 1990s. Although he would remain a useful squad rotation in the next a couple seasons, he would never procure anything starred by the prime version of Findog and finally his sluggish performances exceeded Don's tolerance and prompted a buyout, which took place in 05 summer and the Mavs had gone nowhere further than WCF by then.

He's been Alpha Dog pretty much his whole career, both in Minny and in Boston.

You don't have to like the guy, but hard to deny his skill, dominance, and the fact that he led those teams (with help from Pierce and Ray in Boston of course)

What exactly did KG's alpha dog status in Minnesota do? He had one good year and a whole slew of 1st round exits, not to mention multiple years of missing the playoffs.

And Paul Pierce is the alpha dog on the Celtics, he certainly was in the Finals and to this day that team can't function on offense without him.

Say what you will about Dirk choking in the Finals, but don't ing compare him to Garnett. As an "alpha dog" Dirk has NEVER missed the playoffs and has ALWAYS led his team to 50+ win seasons.
