Yes he is fighting...Father Time. He's a tough one to beat.
I explicity remember Duncan playing like horse during the 08 season, and then the playoffs started and he magically started looking like a superstar again. Looked exactly the same as he does now.

+1000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 0000 and then some....
Couldn't have said it better then myself. Tim is the heart and soul of our team and has more then earned the respect of all the true Spurs fans.
I think Duncan is just tired as of Matt Boner being on the floor in crucial situations. What happened to Boner getting 10 mins a game MAX as a situational bench player that we all agreed was supposed to be his normal role on the team?
Pop has gone off the deep end w/ the Bonner love. Pop has him playing big minutes lately, last 4 games: 20,33,27,24. To with McDyess, Ratliff, Mahinmi .. guys that can actually help defend the paint, Pop has thrown the future into Matt Bonner's hands and Tim Duncan will be the first casualty followed by Manu (when he bolts out of town)
Really? No wonder they laid down in the 4th.
If that's what their heart and soul is then the result of this game is not surprising.
Never said tim doesn't deserve respect I just want him to show a lil fire. He's done it before.
you are that fan.. it's annoying as .. quit being a after ONE game
duncan isn't a warrior? are you ing serious? he's lost a stop because he's aging, but that has nothing to do with his mentality
the only TYPICAL thing here is some meltdown thread after a loss.. GTFO
Tired Timmy with little help...against the best team in the NBA...what the did you all expect???
The Spurs are still a playoff team, but they are no longer the dominant championship contender they used to be. Those days are OVER, folks...deal with it.

and the Dynasty Decade. It likely won't ever happen again.
I agree. Pop yanks mason after one missed shot, but matt can brick 3 in a row and pop'll leave him in
Tim's still a warrior. No doubt. He's just on a not-so-great team. I think it's time for him to ask for a trade to a contender. i'd like to see him on the Nuggets.
Stupid thread. Out of anyone on the team, we should worry least about Timmay not giving effort. He can't do anything if his body is giving out on him, it happens to the best of them.
Also besides having to carry the load for half the season, look at who he's paired with and then compare that to big men on other elite teams.
just imagine, Billups, Carmelo, and Duncan as starters.
Much has been made about limiting Tim's minutes, resting him in back to backs etc...
That might be part of the equation, but the real problem is he needs some defensive help. Longer more athletic help. That's how you can REALLY rest/save Tim Duncan for the playoffs and late game situations. Keep him from exerting so much energy, particularly on the defensive end.
You always here commentators say about great offensive players, "make them work on defense". Defensively, Tim's playing in the post by himself and to compound the problem, without a true defensive stopper on the perimeter. When the opposing player gets past the first defender, Tim's expected to contest the shot and secure the rebound. It's just too much to ask in the latter stage of his career. That's why we're seeing so many offensive rebounds. That's partly why Gasol's eating Tim's lunch towards the end of games.
Get the man some defensive help! He deserves it.
Are we forgetting the 13-year run of greatness that has been Tim Duncan? What is transpiring with this team has NOTHING to do with Duncan. He simply needed better support. The FO vallantly, and desparately tried to provide that to him this offseason. They simply made the WRONG personnel decisions. Still, everyone should have the utmost admiration and appreciation for the contributions and success that Duncan has brought to the Spurs. It's now time to see if the FO can repay him the favor.
Great job at losing tonight guys! Everything is cool. I love you so I won't say anything negative ever. Win or lose, I'm just glad we won 4 'ships and I don't care if we ever win again bc I should be satisfied.
-true, non-typical, not-bandwagon, non-cliffjumping spur fan
rip spurs im just going to sit back and enjoy manu for the rest of the year cuz after that hes gone
It's hard to have "fire" or intensity when you've played a combined 70+ minutes the two games prior. Plus, your idiot coach won't pair anyone other than McDyess or Bonner with you. He's running on empty right now, and the team cannot afford to rest him.
Don't question Tim. Question the FO for again making him the only one out there to hold down the fort. Be it a stupid coach or whatever else he gave Tim no support down low. Tim is just banged on all game long.
Turn the page.
TD has never been a "warrior", he's always been a spur! LOL!
I don't know who's game has worsened Timmy's or Shaq...
thats a joke right? if not then gtfo here
He has stopped staying at the lost post and wait for the ball
but coming out to set screen and other stuffs almost every single time
that should be done by Dice and Bonner
There's definately something wrong about him
You sir are an idiot.
This I do agree with. If tim is pissed about his ty counter-parts therfore its hard for him to come up with the fire needed to take over a game, I understand.
Thank you for shedding some light on the situation rather than just blurting out idiot or stfu like the true fans here. Oh how I with I was as truey as them and all their trueness
No one can question Timmy's heart and desire to win for the spurs' cause! He's given us his all. This game tonight showed that he might not have that stamina or athleticism when he was younger, but i would never say he no longer cares. That's simply moronic.
