The Mavs are falling apart psychologically. You can actually see it happening. I am really enjoying this.

Let the in-fighting begin. When you start hearing this kind of stuff, it's time to oil up the spinning reels.

We lost the first game, so brooms are out. But there still ought to be a tradition for 4 in a row. Do you think they will let us bring Swiffers into the arena?

Sorry, I don't want to jinx us. No more talk about brooms or Swiffers.

But this is what Game 4 is going to look like:

IMO just a generic case of a Spurs Veteran biding his time and picking his spots.

In the 2nd quarter we were going really hard to Tim at first, then we rolled out this lineup of Manu/Tony/Blair/insconsequential

And we basically ran three or four Tony-Blair pick and rolls, and I was like WTF the Manu-Blair pick and rolls is where it's at.

We ran a cluster of them with mediocre results, and the entire time each play Manu was standing there doing absolutely nothing. Parker did not even let him touch the ball. But not parker bashing, I think it was by design.

Ginobili was busy giving his 22342342343% total energy on D, racking up a clutch block on dirk, and four steals (although only 2 were credited, you stat keepers).
Right on. That first quarter, whatever Manu didn't steal, he disrupted. And Marion's claim... lol. He's been posterized by Manu so many times you'd think he'd know better.

Seeing Marion and Diaw be huge cancers for their current team in the playoffs this year has given me great satisfaction. I'd take the current Spurs over the current Suns in a series, but the Suns have a better chance than they would if this stick still played a major role on the team. Good riddance, you choking pussy.

Marion in particular made quite a few mistakes on offense, particularly early in the game. There were a series of successive trips where Marion turned it over. Manu knocked the ball loose and Marion lost it o/b. Marion posted up, Manu trapped from the baseline and ripped the ball out of his hands. Marion led the fast break, was cut off, backed in and tried to rifle a pass to a trailing Nowitzki and threw it away. Shawn wasn't very sharp on offense. Nor was Caron. Carlisle then replaced Marion with JT and the Mavs went smaller with Roddy, Terry and Kidd (guarding RJ).
So you're saying it was Manu holding the clamps?

Marion is having a breakdown after this game.
Do you think Tony glared at him too?

Ginobili took wide open 3s to start the game, both of which he missed. It had little to do with dallas defense.

Then, there was a drive to the basket that ginobili woud've made 90% of the time, this was simply the other 10% where it barely missed.

That accounts for 0-3 start from him, I don't remember his fourth missed shot, but after that he made one (1-5)

Missed two in the 3rd that could be attributed to dallas defense, and then went to work in the fourth.

According to someone I know who has followed Butler since college he's such a junk-yard dog me-against-the-world type player that a hardcore benching like this wont phase his game one iota.

    Let's hope it does.
Agree here. Butler has the for ude to survive the benching.

    He's a real good player.

I think his only flaw is that he doesn't always pick the easiest shot.

He's the key for the Mav's to win, keep Butler from contributing and we win.

Manu kicked the clamps off. They're now on Butler's throat.

We always see this type of behavior/at ude from the Mavs, regardless of who the players are that particular year.

It's because Cuban is such a spoiled little whiner, and he's so unnaturally close to the players that his at ude rubs off on them too much. their first instinct is to whine, rather than fight.

Butler is the key to this series for the Mavs. Marion is done. If Butler doesn't step up, it's over.

Bowen's destruction of Marion in 2005 counts for at least two or three times:
One of my fondest memories of that championship year.

Bowen's destruction of Marion in 2005 counts for at least two or three times:
This cannot be overstated: Marion was a legitimate All-NBA player in 2005 and that was the best Suns team ever (even better than the Barkley-KJ years). Without Bowen shutting down Marion there's no way the Spurs get past them.
