Right, but Rosen makes it seem like he's a corpse out there. "Shadow of his former self" right? Well, of course. But Ron Artest isn't what he was either. Neither is Fisher. Neither are a lot of guys.

It's not about what they were... it's about what they are now. I'll be surprised if Gasol manages +5 PPG more than KG, to be honest. I expect the Celtics to play good post D, hack him hard, and throw him off his game.
Artest wasn't with the Lakers in 2008 so having Artest to guard a 2 year older Pierce is a big advantage over 2008 when human turnstyles Walton and Vlad had to guard him.

Fisher is about the same as he was in 2008. He has always been slowfooted.

I think the key differences that will swing the series are no Posey to put on Kobe, Artest on Pierce, and homecourt for the Lakers. Winning in 5 will be very difficult. Closing out a team on their home floor in game 6 or 7 might be even harder.

    Which teams are better?

    2008 Cavs vs 2010 Cavs
    2008 Pistons vs 2010 Magic

I don't think winning on the road intimidates these Celtics, to be honest. Look at the series... we took the first two in Orlando, and we played a monster game against the Cavs at home.

I believe the Celtics can take one or two on the road in this series, to be honest.

Artest will make a difference, but Fisher has to guard SOMEBODY out there... if Kobe's on Rondo, and Artest is on Pierce, do you think Fisher can keep up with Allen on those screens?

And if Bynum does his usual disappearing act, then Lakers fans have to hope Odom can stand up to Perkins.

Bynum and Perkins will be a wash IMO. This is a good thing for the Lakers. In 2008 they didn't have that.

I agree Fisher's defense will be a problem. If he guards Allen I think Allen will go off. But if Pierce is limited by Artest, I don't see Allen being able to carry the team. I'd rather have Allen be the leading scorer than Pierce.

Since when has Artest shut Pierce down, Sandy?

Tell me this Sandy, do you think Bynum is as good of an offensive player as Dwight Howard? And I mean right now, not back when he could actually score and rebound.

She-Male: Perkins is a good role player but 5 pts, 6 rebounds, 49% shooting in the playoffs is not scary to anyone.
