Sons, you sound exactly like me. I can't stand running even 1 mile, but I can play soccer for hours. Now that I'm graduating though, it's gonna be much harder doing. I used to have 2 days a week of 2 hours of soccer "class"(really it's just a pick-up game), and then at least 3 more hours of intramural coed/mens soccer. Now I'll have to start looking in craiglist for pick up games, and those usually are comprised of older guys
Yeah, I still guest play from time to time and play some Men's league and Indoor, but it is not the same as playing higher level soccer. Now everyone is out of shape and just fouls. The Men's league Division I in Dallas is pretty damn good, but it is just one day a week.

I can't find any good pick up games either. But, I need to do something because I hate carrying around this little extra weight. Plus I am getting bored.

On a side note, in college, the NCAA gives you 4 years of eligibility. If a student athletes main goal is to get an education (like they state...because the vast majority of college athletes don't go pro) then I wish they would grant you an extra year or two of eligibility if you get into graduate school. It would have been great to be able to play college soccer while getting my Masters degree.

I'm not sure when I'll be doing my masters, but I would love to go back to college. Working 9 to 5 sounds so lame....real life gonna suck

Well I am 6 foot 168 pounds right now. I am lean, but not like jacked. But I am trying to get like Ryan Reynolds from Blade 3. That man was straight ripped. My arms are like that, but my Pecs and Abs arent. My pecs are decent but they arent formed to that degree and my abs are just straight, they arent just muscle like without flexing.

    So basically like that.

My body is weird. When I first started working out regularly I had everything Reynolds had minus the abs. Now I have his abs pretty much but I lost too much weight because I got away from lifting as much. My ideal target is how TO looks. And I read Reynolds workout plan and it was pretty sick when it came to the abs exercises he did. Leg raises will get your abs defined pretty quick. Once your abs get used to doing them start doing them with ankle weights on. Trust me you will see definition if you do them right.

I sometimes wish I could pick David Robinson's brain when it came to arm and shoulder workouts. Easily the most ripped person in NBA history. Nobody's arms matched his. Even when he wasn't flexing they looked insane.

Reynold's perfect diet was a huge factor as well

I read some articles about his transformation and he did mention that nutrition was the difference maker
He said: " I see guys who work out regularly and hard, but they can never seem to get rid of that extra flab; nutrition is key "

There's no secret to David Robinson's swole ass arms and shoulders: it's called being black. Just look at all the skinny kids who came to the NBA straight outa high school and are now ripped.

Yep exactly. I remember reading somwhere that Shannon Sharpe ate the same thing everyday for years when he used to play. Tuna, brown rice, and canned peas for lunch. T.O had a pretty good diet too. But Reynolds said that he did very little to no cardio because he was already small. He did say that his PT had him lifting ridiculously heavy weight though.

Yeah, but they they are SKINNY and ripped. What made Robinson so unique was he had size on his arms and they still looked insane like that. Aside from guys who take steroids, I have never seen a person whose arms looked like they just got finished benching 350 everytime you see them. Pippen was another one who was ripped, but the size mass was no comparison to Robinson.

Also if I remember correctly I recall a few people on here saying that Robinson was also a gymnast. That would explain a whole lot since mostly all of those guys are ripped.

p90x is just a specific high intesity training (HIT). I usually go to crossfit.com and do the workout of the day (WOT). navy seals have a more intense WOT but both of these are free. Same results - stronger core and you should lose weight and tone. You'll look smaller with all these but be more solid. My platoon has pretty much moved to HIT 100% and I love it.

    Yup

The combination of heavy lifting+perfect diet has worked well for me

I'm like Reynolds; when I did weights+cardio along with good nutrition, I would lose the fat in 3 weeks, but could not put on a lot of muscle
OnceI had taken the cardio out of the equation, I was able to trim more fat while putting on more muscle (I still did a little cardio once in a while though, like a total of 20-25 minutes a week)

lolololol sons this is the ing truth.

Black kids are born ripped too. They never lift and eat McDonalds everyday yet they are ing swoll as .
nothing is born ripped (unless deficient of myostatin), but a higher percentage of black people have a genetic predisposition for becoming excellent athletes than other races.

speaking of that, check out drob on the fast break:

If you want to get swoll pretty fast, take a pre-supplement for your workout in addition to a finely tuned in diet. I was never into this stuff. I've never taken creatine or NO2 before, but Jack3d is awesome. It has caffeine in it, but if you are not getting caffeine from anything else it's not a big deal. I experience no crash. In fact, I am able to go so hard in the gym that I feel super mellowed out (clear-headed) afterwards. It does have some creatine in it but it's not like you are full on taking creatine. All I know is it is cheap, I have no negative side effects, the lifters on bb.com love it, I now believe for myself through experience that it works, and it's cheap.

The endurance & focus is crazy. I made some great gains the last 2 months from 2 hour lifting sessions (4x a week) followed by 30 mins cardio. I wasn't sure it was working, but now that I am taking a 1 month break from it (after 2 months on) I can tell a HUGE difference. I can barely finish the lifting routines I was ravaging while on Jack3d. I took last week off to let my bones/tendons catch up to the rest of my body. They were getting pretty strained out towards the end of that 2 month period. That sounds y as but that's how it felt.

I bet that stuff would be a nice addition to P90X.

The supplements/shakes/bars P90X tries to sell are wildly expensive so I don't take those. Focus used to be a huge problem for me during workouts but these days I just take adderol

Sons its the worst when you go out to get dinner with a girl and your trying to eat healthy and and not drink soda and shes eating like regular food and your eating some bull health food.

I could care less about the Soda's or any kind of red meat, or anything sweet since I never really had a sweet tooth or drank sodas anyway. But its when they order anything deep fried like french fries, chicken tenders, that sorta of crap while I am trying to force down a crappy salad with no dressing. And I am always hungry as crap when that happens.

Thats what I need something to get me feeling ready to workout when I get to the gym. I work at night and most of the time I get to the gym right after waking up and I am usually groggy and not in the mood to work out. I do force myself and can get through a routine. But it would be nice to go to the gym once in a while feeling ready and jacked up to get it in instead of feeling like crap. I tried red bulls and I felt like I was going to have a heart attack.

Yeah. It's a horrible feeling when you get to the gym, start your sets, and know early on that you are going to have a ty workout. It is on top of the lifting knowing you are not going to hit your numbers &/or finish your routine for that day. My first few workouts after taking a break from Jack3d were like that; it sucked. I'm not sure if it is a placebo mind trick or what but you really have to focus and hype yourself up to get over that mental block.

I can honestly say I did not have one ty workout while on Jack3d. Nutrition is everything though. I found this pregnant lady on youtube that does cooking clips (emphasis on protein meals) so I have been watching those at work haha. The guys there were like..."bro...?" It's all good though. I learned a killer devil'd eggs snack.

No surprise most of the people talking like that in this thread aren't Spurs fans. Just cuz all of you are fatasses doesn't mean the rest of us are.
Everybody is a bad ass on the Internet, didn't you know? Guaranteed the people who are in decent shape aren't all the ones trying to prove it with words here. You're all talk.

it's a thread about people's workout and diet plans. It's not like someone is talking about how ripped or in shape they are, everyone in this thread is talking about fitness goals they want to achieve.

It must be hard for Spurfan to imagine that people actually diet, workout and have fitness goals
