Why Pop thinks Duncan is a clutch shot maker is beyond me.

There's a guy on our team named Robert Horry that was BORN for those kind of situations.

Yeah, right, we only needed a two!

It was the right call. Tim didn't quite get it in. If your star player can't make that play, who do you expect?

As for clutch, he would be the Ultimate Clutch with that insane shot from Game 5 vs the Lakers last year, but thanks to a peon named D. George, nobody seems to remember it....

    there was 2.9 left,

you go to your best player, no brainer.

He makes it, its a great play, he misses it, its pop's fault, obviously.
    Word.

Not only that, it wasn't a fadeaway. Until that ball hit the rim, everyone in the Key Arena was about to bricks.

it just comes down to that, man.. Sometimes i think
spurs fans think more with their hearts than with their heads..
its always a popularity contest with most spurs fans, and OF COURSE
people would of went with manu, cuz everyone LOVES him
    give me a ing break!
You always go with the guy who your best player and the guy
whos won you 2 NBA championships and has come through for you
when you needed him the most...
Not always, like tonight, but i guess hes only freaking human.
and dont give me this bull about manu coming through
for us in the clutch since he MISSED a crucial freethorw, when
we needed it the most.. but im not blaming it on him..
missed free-throws came back to bite him in the rear in the end..
    period

i disagree 100%. tim duncan is not this teams most clutch player. that doesnt mean hes not the best player but when hes not feeling it he aint just gonna magically turn it on and hit a game winner. hes too mental. you need someone fearless like ginobili taking the last shot in a game like this

Yeah, ask any Sonics fan if he was happy with the look they let the Spurs get at the end of that game. Funny how people take a guy like Tim Duncan for granted.

    I thought it was in.

He got off the ground his usual 4 inches, had a good look, it was just short.

Had the game been friday night instead of tonight??

    It probobly goes in.

probably bc he feared a broken bone

Then he isn't very fearless, is he? He also missed a free throw with 29 seconds left. Let's face it; there wasn't anyone playing clutch wearing black tonight except for number 12.

I just watched that last play again, and the only one on the team that was open for a jumper was Barry in the corner. Neither Horry nor Manu spotted up. Instead both went to the basket and their dfenders collapsed on Duncan, who pivoted away from a triple team to get off a damn good shot. Therefore those of you that thought Horry or Ginobili should have gotten the last shot are completely stupid. Anybody that would rather have Barry shoot a three, please speak up now.

how people had easily forgotten Duncan's clutch shots in 2003. e.g. last season game vs. Utah over Malone.

And Manu's lost ball turnover in a Denver game when Duncan didn't play bec. of injury.

    o!!!!

    it''s over...

Manu or Duncan w/ ALL THOSE MISSED FTs = LOSS

    BTW, i just want you to take a peek on Spurs' Stars numbers tonight;

    Duncan 23pts;11rbds;1 asst;1 TO; 4 blocks
    Manu 18pts; 6rbs; 2 asst; 3 TO; 1 stl.
    Parker 18pts;5 rbds; 8 assts; 2 TO; 1 stl.

    Nazr's 7 pts; 3 rbds.only could be the difference
    ...besides the Spurs' missed FTs'

TIM DUNCAN IS STILL THE BEST PLAYER. Stats-wise.
