Brock'd is right, Stringer. That just looked like a bully used to having his way and having no clue about jiu-jitsu or anything else. Just sloppy and reckless.

I guess that's what happens when you get comfortable with your opposition. A caliber of opposition he got comfortable with because he was at a lesser promotion not fighting the best.
    kinda probable

His famous g&p was not effective this time only because he stayed [with his hand] in Werdums danger spot. Fedor used to free himself up every time in such situation, stay outside and pound opponents.
Now under what conditions will Fedor fight? Is he really again will dictate who he wants to fight? If yes it will be Werdum cause Fabricio wants this rematch. Overeem is screwed then. It was said he will fight the winner of this fight and after the fight everybody got shocked it's not Fedor. Because it should be Fedor.

one more fight left in Emelianenkos 'contract'

fedor can fight 2morrow if there is a need

Fedor got caught in a submission, it happens, even Lesnar got submitted by Mir, so people don't go crazy over "Lesnar is better than Fedor"
Umm Lesnar was a noob in mma. Fedor is experienced as .

Yes i know that Fedor is awesome on the ground but i was shocked the way he jumped into Werdum's guard like that. Keep it standing and KO him. He was so reckless last night..

As a Spurs fan, we're used to hearing the phrase "appropriate fear."

Fedor's compe ion recently hasn't instilled that and he's looked to have gotten comfortable and sloppy. You have to be practicing your craft against the best to stay as sharp as possible and to continue to progress, and I really believe fighting at this promotion and against some of these opponents is the reason you saw a performance like last night.

He just wasn't threatened in any way. He didn't have the "appropriate fear."

Honestly, no surprise here. Fedor hasn't fought any top level compe ion in years. Both Rogers and Arlovski had chances to take him out before they got caught by haymakers. Nobody in the sport has a resume like Fedor, but his days of being top dog are over. One can only hope that once his contract is up (one more fight I believe), M-1 will relax on their ridiculous demands so he can fight some real fighters again.

    even dana white is happy
    check his twitter
I didn't read his Twitter, but Dana said before that his offer to Fedor (whatever that was) would stay on the table unless he lost a fight in Strikeforce. Like I said, hopefully M-1 drops their dual promotion BS. Dana is going to be y as after this loss and you know any future offers to Fedor are going to drop like a rock.

Werdum played Fedor like a fiddle—dropping to his back after those big haymakers. Fedor jumped right into the trap. If you've ever watched Werdum's ADCC matches, his guard is not a good place to be.

It was really odd seiing Fedor so eager to be in his guard. Yes Fedor has great JJ but he was right where Werdum wanted him to be..

    I do agree
But the thing is he still was stressed up more then he used to. All those victories no matter if you are machine or not, it has a meaning.

Fedor used to stay outside and strike from the side position. if you could see one more time- a second in bad position and Werdum was all over Fedor. With a bit of cage help and Fedors not realizing he can get caught in armbar or then triangle. he always frees his hand as fast as he can.
Right now it looked like he wanted to pound Werdum thinking that Werdum is already dizzed.
Still I cannot believe. But it's all good I guess.

Shocking that Fedor would make such a rookie mistake.

Once again, I feel obligated to comment on how amazingly bad the Strikeforce commentary is, even if they weren't as bad as usual. I did like this little gem, however (but didn't catch who made it):

"Scott Smith has more comebacks than Lazarus."

Mostly it amazes me that anybody under the age of 40 even knows the name Lazarus anymore

Thank you for bringing that up Des.

They are horrendous. Mauro Ranallo is the worst i have ever heard. Loud, terrible voice and never has much interesting to say. Frank Shamrock does a pretty good job, he knows the game and doesn't over-talk but Gus Johnson is annoying also. They just talk too much and tell too many stupid stories. Gus Johnson was going on and on about Bret Rogers being a tire salesman as Fedor was knocking him the out.. Remember when Kimbo lost to Seth, Gus yells

"The most incredible upset in the history of MMA, Rocky, Rocky is HERE!!!"

    WOW just terrible..

Just watching the opening (and only!) minute of that fight, Fedor was stalking him like a bad mutha-f'er. No reason to chase him down to the ground, make him stand with you!!!! MAKE HIM STAND!!!

I really didn't understand the sadness of some people after the Rampage/Rashad fight, but this sadness is too much. If Brock loses I might jump off a bridge.

it was too early for fedor to jump into guard like that. No sweat and werdum was fresh. Fedor is better than that. Would have no doubt won if he kept it standing. He will be back. Hopefully this pushes him to the UFC somehow. Still a top 3 HW and top 10 P4P for sure..

Fedor was just saying recently how he's not as motivated anymore and if you want anymore proof just look at the fight. Making a rookie mistake like that to me is a complete indicator of a lack of focus and really when you're righting sub par talent then you're more apt to lose focus and interest. However, if anything this shows you how MMA requires full commitment and you can't try to do this half assed. I think we see guys do this (SUP RAMPAGE) and it almost always comes back to bite them in the ass.

Once the fire is out do you ever get it back? If not, Fedor might be done. You can train to get your body right but how do you get the desire back?

A good ass kicking does some guys a lot of good (BJ Penn). Fedor always struck me a lot like Cro Cop. A fierce guy in the ring, but really didnt care about fighting and the belt all that much. Everyone rips on him for not going to the UFC and not challenging Brock and this and that.. personally, I dont think he gives a ..

you are absolutely correct. Once he walks out the ring he does give a . Fighting always came 3rd in his life behind his family and religion. I remember watching the special of him against Rogers and he never seemed to care to go down as the greatest fighter ever.

He is definitely a class act, I think his next fight might be his last, because he stated that he wanted to run for office.

exactly, and IMO Fedor will always be the greatest p4p fighter in history and a perfect example of what every pro athlete should model themself after. Sad to see him lose lack of motivation and get sloppy like he did, but there is no doubt in my mind he would give Brock . What he did in his career may only be copied by Anderson. It just always frustrated me that he let his friends and management control his fighting career. Hope he is not done. Fedor, page, and wandy are basically what is left of my PRIDE memories
