How do you post with that thumb up your ass?
I only make time to closely watch the USA, South Korea, Chile, and Mexico
I'm sure Algeria tried, but they didn't put any points in any of their Group C matches. In fact, they were the only ones not to win a game in the group.![]()
timothy mcveigh and the unabomber are american! americans are terrorists, even their professional athletes!that was easily one of the most re ed posts ever on this site
i think my IQ just dropped several points just reading this thread
We will regreat the Slovenia game for a long time
We should have gotten 3 pts, but we really really shot ourselves in the foot
Why? A agree it should/could be even, BUT three points? I donīt get it.
Because we dominated (not a huge domination thoough)
Then Ghezzal happened
Then Chaouchi happened
![]()
Dominated? Neither team couldnīt make two passes and the pace of the game was so slow that only vuvuzelas could have be named as dominating force for that game.
who the cares about ALGERIA?
that team wasnt even trying to advance, they were just playing spoiler to tie and eliminate both algeria and the USA
its ok to talk mad about NBA teams and players, but we cant say algeria?
What was they suppose to do? Just walk off the court and give you three points? Congrats Algeria for playing hard there.
The Algerian soccer team bombed the world trade center? I must have missed that in the history book.
You can either stop, or be shown the door. Pretty simple.
that, they were playing to sacrifice themselves to send the US home. It's the equivalent of strapping a bomb to yourself and suicide bombing a building, cutting off your nose to spite your face. Must be a cultural thing.
Why would they try to eliminate themselves.
Are you surprised by Miamiheat's logic?
Why do you think people make fun of him in the NBA forum?
You have to actually check that?
I thought the answer was automatically yes.
And I'd marry Mara on the spot, too.
Hey guys, let's not forget those Slovenian gots who laughed and made fun of the U S of A when the refs saved their asses.
I do, however, admire the kind of audacity it takes to know that one's team didn't lose solely because of the refs, and then brag afterwards.
Algeria needed to score more than 1 goal to advance. The commentators said it very clearly.
Yet, the only offense they got going, was counter-attacks because the USA was stretching themselves trying to get a goal.
Algeria was playing to tie 0-0 and end the game, that is basically ELIMINATING yourself and the USA.
Where's the sense of " , I need to score some goals if I want to advance, otherwise, whats the point of tying the USA and going home?"
and then lefty is butthurt and trying to question my logic.
son, if you think you can beat me and my logic, I ing challenge you to try. It's easy to make up and try to claim I'm dumb, but that's only when I say somethign you don't agree with.
You're Algerian so you're butthurt.
I'm American and you didn't see me crying about Slovenia making fun of americans.
We needed to win 2-0 considering the lead England had over Slovenia
But if Slovenia beat or tied England, we would have advanced with a win, regardless of the score
So, we were still trying to win, because the other game wasn't over yet when it was still 0-0 between USA and us, and Slovenia could still tie its game.
So there was no reason for us to eliminate ourselves![]()
Tell that to the myriad Algerian defenders camping in front of their own goal.
Look, I'm not trying to rub salt in the wound, but with time winding down in the 2nd half and Algeria KNOWING England was still up on Slovenia, I didn't see a sense of urgency from the guys in green at all. The US was on the attack at seemingly every opportunity, and Algeria should've been doing the same, knowing the stakes as well as the Americans did.
So yes, by the strategy the Algerians adopted in the second half, they were effectively embracing elimination.
Its not that we didnt want to score
Its just that we couldnt
Why?
Not a lot of strikers on the rosters
- Djebbour almost scored early (when he hit the cross bar)m but the the USD adjusted
- Ghezzal ........ well he is not bad .... but after his legendary move vs Slovenia, I guess the coach didnt want to play him a lot
- then you have Ziaya, who is a heck of a striker, but he and the head coach don't get along, so Saadane didn't select him for the WC; too bad cause he is good
But we have tons of midefielders
Go figure
The England game was going on at the same time the USA game was going on, so they can't exactly play to the results of a game that is proceeding at the same exact time as their game.
So they have 2 options
1) Play to the worst case scenario. England beats Slovenia, meaning Algeria has to score more than 1 goal against USA to advance.
This is the GUARANTEED result to get Algeria to advance to the next round.
2) Play to the best case scenario. Slovenia beats or ties England, Algeria advances. So, just don't lose against USA, and hope that Slovenia wins or ties England.
This is a RISKY, NON-GUARANTEED tactic, because the England-Slovenia game is going on at the same time as the USA game. So you cannot predict the outcome and rely on that.
So, looking at those options, the BEST result is going for Tactic #1. If you can accomplish this, it guarantees, no matter what, that you advance.
