Hmmm....seems like every new search is started as "moderate filter". You have to reset your preferences if you want it "no filter"

yes and no... they could have a javascript or something similar that does change depending on which browser or os the user is using.

Are you guys saying that google images looks the same to you today as it did last week? On my computer theres about 10 times the images per page and it no longer gives you the size/location under the picture...then if you click on one the interface is different on the next screen...

Yes, I was going to go back and edit my statement to say that different browsers affect a websites look moreso than OS's, but I was being lazy.
