With Buford, Lindsey and Ferry, Spurs have 3 guys with a GM level in their FO. Let's hope good things will come out of this.

Every once in a while a squirrel just happens to find a nut, or have one thrown at him out of nowhere that gets lodged in his throat -- the latter would probably be true in this case.

I remember sitting at floor level of the HemiFair Arena for the 1989 Draft Party. The Spurs had the 3rd pick, so the Spurs put video feed on the JumboTron. Coach Larry Brown had expressed his interest in going "BIG", as if that was a surprise, and it was no secret that he coveted Danny Ferry.

Pervis Ellison went to the Kings #1 and then when it was announced that Danny Ferry was selected 2nd by the Clipps, the fans in HemisFair showed their vocal displeasure and disappointment. When the Spurs announced their pick of Sean Elliott, there were mixed emotions and some boos rang out (some things never change Spurs fans).

It didn't take long for everyone to warm up to the idea of Sean becoming the Spurs next SF. It messed with Larry Brown's vision of playing Terry mings at the 3 and that didn't keep him from experimenting with David Robinson and Caldwell Jones on the floor together with mings. Brown made life hard for Elliott and I always wondered if deep down, Larry was just having issues that Sean wasn't the 6'10" scorer he coveted. Sean wasn't Danny Ferry.

That is a cool story. It's easy to say that without Duncan, we wouldn't have done this or without Parker, Robinson, Ginobli, etc. But would we have won the first ring with Ferry instead of Sean ? Obvioulsy we'll never know but chances are it wouldn't have been in such dramatic fasion. But then that probably would have initiated a completly new chain of events and we end up with Keith Van Horn. WTF with trying to say Sean's last name? Hopefully the experience he brings with him will translate to an immediate impact, namely in the form of a mysterious post season power outage at home games whenever Pop tries to sub in Bonner.

Well, Ferry's arrival in SA means one thing: Shaq is coming too

I foresee a great chemistry with RJ

Ferry might bend over for Shaq. But no way he takes from RJ.

If Ferry comes, I say we agree that he isn't allowed to trade for Delonte West, Larry Hughes, or Antwan Jamison, or any other trade that resembles these trades.

As long as he doesn't try to fill our roster with a bunch of donyell marshalls, jamario moons, boobie gibsons or delont west's...basically mediocre players who play ZERO defense, then welcome back.
