The NBA schedule is just ing crazy. Of course playing during the summer is not helping but main reason of health issues is on NBA calendar not international plays.

same with manu: the seasons after he didnt play with the arg national team (05-06 season, 07-08) his body broke down, whereas the seasons after he did play (02-03, 04-05, 06-07) it clearly cost the spurs a chance to win a ring

of course it takes a toll, i'm not arguing otherwise, but maybe just maybe the 82 game season is (a large) part of the equation. also, not even cars are like that. its not a matter of "X number of miles = X number of wear and tear". first, accidents happen, second, some types of wear and tear do not have an immediate effect, or any effect at all.

82 games is not the problem the problem is to play 82 games in less than 6 months with 20 or so back to back games.
