Because I'm basing it on the level of play by the individual player, not the team. Spurs beat the Mavericks last year with Manu Ginobili leading the way and George Hill stepping up.

If the back of Tim's jersey said "Casper" instead of "Duncan" I don't think anyone would have noticed.

Meanwhile Gasol topped off a great season winning yet another NBA 'ship toasting to something Tim's never even dreamed about; back to back championships.

Young Bosh and Melo are easily superior to the quickly slipping Timmy D. He's had a legendary career but it's over now. He's not that player anymore and while Spurs fans are clearly the last to embrace this fact I assure you the rest of the league is well aware.
I suppose you got bored with the ESPN Spurs board huh history?

lol missing out on timmy scoring in the clutch basket after basket against hayward and dampier down the stretch ... and lol telling spur fans "to go watch spurs PO games" .... this guys either a troll or a dumbass ... my vote is for the latter...

Did you really just say clutch basket after clutch basket against "hayward and dampier?" It's Haywood first off dipstick but aside from that are you really going to cling to a first round series against the lowly Mavs as evidence that Tim is great?

Where the clutch play after clutch play against the Suns? Goran Dragic was just too good for Tim eh? Or does the 2nd round not count? Getting swept by the Suns was what? Evidence of how great Tim Duncan truly is these days huh? Awesome.

Just another delusional Spurs fan in denial of the obvious. Dime a dozen.

I agree with history2b, Gasol is better than Kobe.

It wasn't so clear in this forum about a season ago when Manu was out for the season and Tony was tearing it up...

I'm sure we'll hear another chapter in this story if Tony comes back healthy this season
