The arc on his shot is magnificent.
Brown had a bad thumb injury in all of last years postseason. Damn you can tell he has worked his ass off cuz hes playing 10 times smarter & his shot looks extremely good now. He also works really well with Blake & Barnes. Failmar was holding him back IMO.
Shannon is a stud.
Tipsy, if you are silently lurking in the background...
Exactly.
I disagree with those who say he's playing "smarter." I thought last year's Shannon had an itchy trigger finger at 12.5 FGAs per 36 min, but this year he's trying to get to Kobe territory on shots launched, now jacking up 15.3 FGAs per 36.
That said...
The guy is absolutely en fuego -- .618 TS% -- wow! 47% from 3-pt! And those figures don't include tonight's game where he shot 7-for-9 from the field and 4-for-5 from 3-pt.
It's fair to say that he can play hot potato shooting the ball all he wants when he's hitting with that kind of efficiency. If he maintains even half this increase of efficiency he'll be a viable candidate for 6MOY.
A great 4th quarter by Shannon B. leading the Lakers from deep and that's a good thing. Would it be possible to win both 6th man and Most Improved Player in the same season?
Let's just hope Kobe doesn't get his begrudgment on![]()
Shannon is playing smarter and blindly looking at stats will never reveal the truth on the matter.
It's not about the number of shots as much as it is the quality of shots and knowing when to take them. When you're confident in your shot and you have a good look, you take it. And that's what Shannon's doing.
Still waiting for Tipsy the lurker to discuss the idea of Shannon Brown becoming a contributor for the Lakers...
Don't even kid like that. Last week there was rumblin' about Gasol & MVP and Kobe nearly lost his mind.![]()
2004 all over again?![]()
I had Luva calling me in the middle of the night, cryin' like a baby.![]()
Shannon has played great. Enjoy it Laker fans now - he's so gone next season. He should be rewarded for the work he's put in so I'm not mad at him.
I thought it a multi year deal, Clev?
Likely to opt out a again if he keeps up this level of play for sure but I think Buss opens up the pocket book this time.
So, should the term be coined Luke'd or Sasha'd? Whatever it is, hopefully Brown doesn't do it after earning his new contract.
