More games like tonight and our guy can punch a ticket to Canton.
He punched that ticket 5 years ago. I want him to be more of a legend/icon when he retires. Still underrated.

Very, very efficient game for Duncan. He's still doing what he does best.

He schooled Hibbert pretty bad in the low post and his mid range jumper looked fantastic. It's pretty clear that Pop is limiting his offensive touches so this is probably the most he could have scored.

He played too many minutes... Save it for the playoff please.

First game of the season and it wasn't easy.We aren't that good to save players for the playoffs in October.

Agreed. And after he's done soaking in NFL history, he should head over to Springfield to the NBA hall of fame.

Tim looked as good last night as I've seen him in 2 years. His willingness to shoot jumpers is an important step he's seemingly taken to save his body, which is fantastic. Let Beast and Splitter get beat up in the paint til later in the season.

Agreed. It's the natural evolution of his game. Grant Hill did it, McDyess did it, now Duncan looks to be doing it as well, except he doesn't NEED to because of injury, he is just a smart player who knows how to contribute in a big way, and use the least amount of energy in doing so. AWESOME. I feel honored to grow up and have watched the careers of the two greatest Spurs of all time, David Robinson, and now Tim Duncan. Not to mention, when it's all said and done, the best PG, and SG of Spurs history as well, no disrespect to Ice. Awesome start.

remember, people were calling him and MVP candidate (or close to one) the last two years before the all-star break. after the all-star break, he's gotten worse.

Yessir. My almost all Spurs + Brook Lopez fantasy team is killing again this year. Highly unlikely win just like last year...Duncan Park/Ginobili this year will be solid...

May have lost a step, but he's still one of the best big men in the NBA. GM survey dropped him to 3rd this year at the PF position, behind Gasol & Dirk. They also ranked him at Center, and GM's said Duncan is the 2nd best Center in the league.

That means, that while he's no longer at his peak, he's still one of the top 4 big men in the NBA according to GM's.

I think he wore down a bit in the playoffs. That's why he took off even more weight over the summer. Pop wasn't able to limit Duncan's minutes in the second half of the season last year as much as he wanted to. Having Splitter here this year should help Pop stick to his plan this time, keeping Duncan fresher for the playoffs.

I think his ticket has already been punched a long time ago.

I wish the rest of the fans in this league could see Tim on a daily basis. They would understand what Spurs fans understand. Everything goes through Tim. Even on a bad night, he is still a leader who does all the little things to give the Spurs a chance to win. He is the best basketball player I've ever seen and I've seen a lot of basketball. He is just a winner. I'm glad he's not flashy. I'm glad I don't have to watch him do commercials all the time. I'm just glad I get to watch him play basketball. Thanks Tim!
