Republicans may still control the senate, and elect a leader.
The current count is 47 democrats and 44 republicans. Republicans need 6 more, as Lieberman is talking about switching parties. Sure, unlikely to get 6 of the remaining 7, but it's still possible.
Lieberman is practically a repubilcan anyhow

they already have senate for years despite being facially outnumbered by democrats. some senators are registered as democrats but they also hate obama as much as everyone does, that's why obama's bills never got easily passed through the senate & house despite their majorities in both. the same democrats will continue to vote in favor of the republicans, and also the country and american people.

Toomey wins in Pennsylvania - another GOP pickup. And it looks like Kirk is going to win Illinois - so Obama's seat will go to the GOP. Senate is going to be pretty close to a 50-50 split.
- was really hoping for Sestak win - in any event thats really not a GOP pickup considering the in bent was a GOP member for a long ass time.
Yeah - but Spector was a BIG RINO - and Toomey is a conservative. What's more important is the win in Illinois - because Kirk will be seated immediately and could have an effect on the lame duck Senate.

Nevada has the highest unemployment rate in the country - and it's mostly due to Obama's policies - I can't understand why the people in Nevada would re-elect Reid. I guess you just can't fix stupid.

It will be interesting to see what, if any, affect the number of candidates on the ballot had on the Senate race. Also, they can actually vote for "None of the Above" - I wonder how many people did that.
