Is <the doctor> right?
Well you and everyone else. The only time anyone cares if a doctor is right is when he's wrong.
Is <the doctor> right?
I don't think thats the right question. Lots of scientists in the past have been proven wrong but that doesn't mean their theories didn't advance science and understanding.
Jeez, we don't need an echo of WC in here. One will do fine.![]()

I didn't argue that.
But I'll come right out and say I don't like the politics lining up behind the so-called science or the hot air emanating from the chimneys of its journalistic epigones, right or wrong.
Finding the forces arrayed against the incipient technocratic consensus fully as dangerous and contemptible as their opponents, and fully mindful of the fragility of human freedom and so called civilizational progress, "I feel the blackest gloom" wrt this controversy.

It's out there, just keep searching. Try bing if you can't find it with google.
Wow. Stupid Stupid thread. Darrin PWNing himself is nothing new though.
Its obvious you don't like it WH but I think you've yet to explain exactly why. Would you prefer scientists who see a problem keep quiet?
science with a political agenda sucks
You can go back to the children's table, Darrin. I asked the adult with a brain. Thanks.
Darrin "the fraud" S is as original as a Vitale impression.
Not at all. I believe I complained about the political end.
Science will do whatever it's paid to do, plus whatever it accomplishes on its own account.
That's all fine with me.
The policies politicians make based on the conclusions and conjectures of science, is a whole nother thing.

I don't like the politics or the propagandists.
What's not clear about that, Manny?
@Manny: It's not like its science v. politics, per se.
There's politics on both sides of the antagonism.
It's more or less inevitable that one side will have the better of the science behind it.
But it is hardly impossible in a game as old as politics that scientists will not occasionally pick the wrong side.

Admittedly, my view is that both sides are probably wrong.
(Dumb blind conservative faith in the dumb blind faithlessness of men and women, you might say.)
I caint prove it to you, Manny.
It's more in the nature of an article of belief.
