Once again, LJ, this is why you stopped doing grades in favor of Game Thoughts. People spend too much time quibbling over half a grade point rather than talk about the game. Perhaps this needs to be converted to "Quick Thoughts."

Good point, but perhaps it should just stay as "Quick Grades" ... emphasis on quick, implying they aren't necessarily perfect.

I think timvp should go back to Game Thoughts AND remove letter grades from the equation. But as long as the Ellis' have a 1-36 month old baby, we'll have to deal with quick grades.

And chieflion brought up an interesting point, does timvp change the grading for the playoffs? Cuz Bonner would be allowed to suck more when it counted if that were true.

I think it's funny just how seriously people take half a grade on a blog entry.

Just looking at Manu's shooting stats and FTs makes me wonder if the Wolves just decided to stop him by fouling (Hack a Manu) and see if he could beat them at the line.

Could anyone who saw the game and their defense comment on this?

If that was what they planed to do then thats a very flawed logic to foul that teams best free-throw shooter.

Given Manu's FT%, he's probably the last person on the team to hack.

The small ball lineup was very aggressive and Manu as a primary ballhandler was a big reason for that. It really put the Wolves on their heels in the fourth.

It's also a bit ironic how they beg and plead for them then piss and moan about them with they get them. Spurstalk = insatiable masses.

Pretty much. Although I do enjoy seeing heated arguments over subjective grading. People also act like LJ isn't analyzing ever facet of each game. People get hung up on a guy hitting his free throws and want to give him high marks for his performance. Do you honestly think Manu shooting 1-10 is an above average performance for him, a player who has carried this offense to a 16-3 season?

If nothing else, Timvp is consistent with his method. And it's nice to check out the grades if you missed the game.

Manu did a great job of drawing the contact and then just heaving it at the goal the best he could to get the shooting foul. Second game in a row where he caught a guy reaching out at the three point line and got the foul. He was getting the contact on his own so, no, I don't think the wolves intentionally fouled.

    I want the quick grades!
What does Bonner has to do to get an F?

Manu and Tony deserve better grades, 20pts 50% 5ast were usefull and 13/13 FT is impressive and ... clutch!
    lol

People can want the grades and also disagree with them. It's why they like them. It is a topic of conversation and obviously everyone will not agree.

Wanting the grades and not agreeing with some of them are not mutually exclusive imo...

Bonner should get an F for giving up two consecutive turnovers while trying to inbound the ball.

I think it is funny how you think you know more then anyone
also this is a forum to discuss thinks but you think people can not give them what they think. No disrespect to anyone here but what they think is not always right. That also goes to the spurs coaches and players

I don't know if Chump thinks he knows more than the rest of us, but I love the back and forth arguements. Good stuff.

what put them on their heels was they lack confidence in the 4 quarter

they also knew spurs came back 21 against them a few games ago

I would give it to him just for showing a little fire and passion on that loose ball play. I haven't seen a lot of that yet. The Spurs have to be careful not to get too lazy and staisfied. They need to stay hungry and motivated.

This is that lull time in this too long of a season between game about 19/20 through about game 60. The Spurs are a little tired but mostly they're a but unfocused. They think they can beat the wolves by going all out in the 4th and they did. The only reason Minn was so close in the 1st meeting was due to Darko hitting every ridiculous shot he threw up. Today he didn't and the 4th quarter barrage got it done. I do think Manu needs a couple games off here and there.

Don't need to watch the game to know the answer......

Manu shoots around 90% from the line this year. He's a bad candidate for Hack-a-<Insert Name Here>.
