I love what Hill brings to the table, but there's no way he is Manu-like beyond his ability to score, play D, and come off the bench. I doubt there are 5 players in the NBA with Manu's court vision, compe ive instinct, idiosyncratically efficient skill-set, and understanding of the game on both ends of the court. He'll be a coach before any other player of our championship days excepting Avery.
He's already been on record saying he doesn't want to coach

I think if anything, Hill can inherit Parkerīs role.
He is good on the fastbreak even when numbers are not in his favor just like TP, he looks first for his shot like TP, his size is good for a PG position, his passing is yet to get to TPīs level, but it think he can get there.

I think the player that has showcased the most habilities to became like Manu is James Anderson, he is a better passer than Hill, his assist per minute rate is higher than Hill all 3 seasons, his body is almost perfect for the SG role, and he can make it even better if he mucles up the way Blair and Hill did in their first preseasons.

    By the way
    Body comparisions

Player: Tony Parker -------- George Hill -------- Emanuel Ginobili --- James Anderson
    Height: 6-2 / 1.88 --------- 6-2 / 1.88 -------- 6-6 / 1.98 --------- 6-6 / 1.98
    Weight:185 lbs. / 83.9 kg. - 180 lbs. / 81.6 kg. - 205 lbs. / 93.0 kg. - 215 lbs. / 97.5 kg.

Not sure if Anderson will be as good as he looked like, but as of now he is our best case scenario for the next game changing SG.

Hill cannot inherit Parker's role, Brent's wife don't like him.

Hill is playing the role ginobli used to have, come of the bench and make an immediate impact. So far george is doing great in duplicating that, even led the team in scoring of the bench last game, ala manu.

Hill's potential value as a future closer cannot be overlooked--his ability to be a defensive pest with his length is what I believe will make him one of Pop's (or whoever's coaching), biggest assets.

George Hill was a of a find. Spurs seem to have a knack for those. Plus defender, who seems to have all-star offensive potential. No replacing Ginobili... but Hill can begin assuming more of Manu's scoring responsibilities when the years begin to catch up to him.

Duncan is going to be what he is now, health permitting, for another 4 or 5 years, as will Tony Parker. But having young talent like Hill definitely helps to pry the championship window open... perhaps several more years.

Manu needs no heir. He'll just hit 35, and rejuvenate himself back to 25.
Maybe grow some body too, to play center. :P

This is nothing like David to Tim. That was a passing of the torch. Manu to Hill, is not. He will fill a role, that is it. There will be no "heir" to his throne, just another guard filling the space he use to occupy.
