Like getting swept by the Suns
You forgot the part about it occurring after Dallas became the first 2 seed to be knocked off by a 7 seed......

go easy on me, guys. Like I said, for once I'm really not trying to troll. The getting swept by the Suns comment was directed at the guy who tried trolling me.

Either way I think Boston and LA are easily the favorites, with Dallas and SA a little behind them. I'm just saying that San Antonio's chances go up tremendously if La were to get knocked out, but I just can't see them being the ones that do it. LA's bigs are just way too much Dallas is the only team that matches up with that monster frontline.

Jesus, I hope The Spurs aren't hoping they get to dodge somebody to win a championship.
What? This is stupid logic. I'm sure the Spurs are hoping for the easiest possible path to the championship as all of their fans should be.

I'm not gonna lie, watching Golden State dismantle the Mavericks in the first round was great because it meant the Spurs didn't have to. Championships are hard and while winning with a tremendously tough path is obviously an amazing thing, just think back to 2008 when the Spurs had NOTHING in the tank after two very tough series.

If the Lakers continue to play like they've been playing they could get eliminated in the first round. I'm quite serious. I think there may be serious, serious problems on the Lakers right now, ones they're not talking about.

Mavs aren't unbeatable, but Dirk is a tough cover. Fortunately for anyone facing him he usually chokes in the playoffs.

I don't completely disagree. We'll see how the spurs match up against both the Lakers and Mavs next week. When all is said and done though I would rather take on OKC or Utah in the second round than the Mavs or the Lakers.

TIAGO MUST BE INTEGRATED!!!! I've lost hope on Blair becoming a force down low this season. *snif another season coming off the bench should still help him improve his game for next season.

If the Spurs are healthy, they can beat the Lakers and/or the Mavs in the playoffs. Not saying they will beat them, but they can beat them. The Lakers and Mavs are very good, but not invincible.

That said, it would be easier for the Spurs if the Lakers and Mavs met early on, so one of them got knocked out of the playoffs.

If the Spurs get that #1 seed, they're going to the Finals, IMHO.

I want to see a Spurs-Celtics Finals. That would be epic!

Who guards Odom? Who guards Gasol? Who guards Bynum?
I'd like to see Tiago and maybe Bonner guard Odom.

Duncan, Dyess, and Tiago can also tag team Gasol.

Pop can use a chair to guard Bynum since Bynum will probably be in street clothes with another injury.

No. You just don't understand what I am saying. You can "hope" for an easy path I guess, but it's not something you can rely on. The Spurs have to be prepared for a long, tough road in the playoffs. If they aren't ready for every team, they are going to be in big trouble.
I said I would be happy with a win anyway they can get it, but hoping to dodge certain teams is a loser's at ude.

Obviously they should be prepared. But you have to be re ed to think San Antonio wouldn't be happy to see the Lakers get knocked out to make their lives easier in the playoffs.

Lets face it Mavs taking out LA would be cool but in the playoffs better yet round two we all know that is not going to happen! LA is to mentally tough in the playoffs for Dallas, period. Spurs might not beat either for all I know, but LA is not going to lose to Dallas.

If the Spurs were to smash the Lakers threepeat march and upend the Celtics...well, where do you go from there? I might just retire as a Spurs fan
Really, if the Spurs killed Kobe and Garnett, how do you top that?
    Perchance to dream.

That was an epic battle there, could have went either way. Dallas is not going to beat LA IMO and they haven't done a thing in the playoffs since 06 pretty much so whats the point there arguing it? They have to actually win to talk about beating LA in the playoffs.

Nobody matches up with LA's frontline, and nobody matches up with Kobe - that's why I'd be shocked if they don't cruise to another le this year.
Spurs are good enough to hang..I mean sure the Lakers are playing pretty ty right now..and perhaps the playoffs will be different..but every team has a chance..Spurs this season aren't the same team from last. Lakers vs Spurs in the playoffs would be pretty awesome.

+1! And to top it off, how about Duncan accidently elbowing KG in the mouth on his way to throwing one down on him in a game 7 blowout win for the Spurs?
