The Mavs would probably be an easier series. They've been dealing with more injury problems to key players throughout the season (Roddy, Butler, Chandler, Dirk) so their health, chemistry, and execution will probably suffer in the playoffs. The Mavs also have much worse perimeter defenders than the Lakers which helps the Spurs since guys like Parker, Ginobili, Hill, etc. will be able to get quality looks all series. I also expect Duncan to be able to handle the Mavs frontcourt easier than the more talented and bigger trees in Bynum and Gasol.

However the Mavs do have one potentially key intangible going for them and thats wanting revenge for the last playoffs. They'll at least make the Spurs pay for any wins with some hard fouls and enforcing like Najera versus Ginobili and Parker last year. Then again the Lakers would probably be the same way especially since this is Phil's last hurrah. At least the Spurs are on track of not playing both the Mavs and the Lakers....playing against one of them is enough of a heavy toll.

Mavs would be the slightly more entertaining series, imo, but I'd like to see a Spurs/Lakers series as well.

It's like asking which movie I'd rather be stuck on a deserted island with.....Star Wars Ep IV or Ep V.

    Tough call.

Mavs, even though I don't believe an LA/Spurs series would be as bad as Sunday's game. Eluding to what someone said in another post, the Spurs could go to Duncan in the post more when Bynum is in the game to try and get him into foul trouble. The same, we don't want Duncan on Gasol, or Duncan will be in foul trouble.

Some of you guys are such pussies. I want whoever wins that series playing their best ball, and I want the Spurs there to meet them.

I just want the Spurs to be 100% focused. If they come out with that energy they had against the Lakers last game in the playoffs, they will not win.

A focused Spurs team has the ability to beat either team. It doesn't matter to me personally. Either would be a great matchup assuming we make it that far or vice versa.
