The point was that if Stephen King thinks he should be paying 50% of his income to the federal government, there's nothing to stop him.
So what's the point of this thread?
The point was that if Stephen King thinks he should be paying 50% of his income to the federal government, there's nothing to stop him.
Yes, there is:
I see. His piousness and political upbraiding comes off as a bit disingenuous and shallow when he calls for a shared sacrifice that he could easily start doing himself.
Well it's true that he could pay 50% if he wanted to but allow me to offer a different answer. Stephen King is not paying 50% because raising taxes would hurt the economy and put people out of work...according to Barack Obama and the Democrat party.
CI-BO-LA, My life for you, Stephen King!
Preach it, brother.
Baby, can you dig your man?
Wouldn't make sense for me. He, on the other hand, is the one complaining about not be taxed enough. It would seem to make perfect sense for him.
He could still write that check for the extra 22% without harming anything.
Some millionaires lobby for higher tax bills
"Ever since these tax cuts were put in place...I have made my commitment to give away every dollar that I have saved in taxes to organizations that I feel are working to change the policy or suffering as a result of the policy," Schoenberg said. "Over the last four years, I donated over $200,000 that I had received in tax cuts. Frankly, I'd rather the government receive it as part of a general tax policy, and that's what we're trying to change."
He's an idiot.
1) There was nothing stopping him from sending that $200,000 to the government as described earlier in this thread.
2) That he thinks the government would have been more efficient or effective with that 200K than the organizations to which he gave is idiocy...it also doesn't speak well of the organizations. Or, his choice in charities.
(although, after re-reading, it appears he may have just given the money to political organizations.)
So basically your point is that you are unwilling to financially support a cause you allegedly support because it's "unfair" () if others aren't forced to participate with you. How noble.
For-profit "movie" maker Michael Moore has given away all this millions, right? Actually, he is suing for 2.7 million because he only got 20 million from Fahren e 911. This was before he made "Capitalism: A Love Story". Seems capitalism is treating him pretty good.
Strawman.
I'm not trying to be noble, dumb . I'm expressing my willingness to participate in something IF it will meaningfully affect the deficit. I alone will not.
What part of that don't you get?
Do you need it spelled out for you?
Is it too advanced of a concept for you?
Maybe it is, I'll spare you the embarrassment.
You, on the other hand, are the one complaining about en lements but are unwilling to give up your en lements. That makes a lot of sense.
Funny, this sounds an awful lot like what I said.
Strawman, huh?
Naw. I got it. Thankfully I have a passport. What part of that don't you get?
Do you need it spelled out for you?
Is it too advanced of a concept for you?
Thanks for that. If it's not too much trouble, can you also go ahead and spare me your dumbass threads about Sarah Palin and Fox News? TIA.Maybe it is, I'll spare you the embarrassment.
You could still forego any en lement payments instead of bellyaching about en lement expenditures and wanting your money back.
Nope. Not true. I've already said they can keep my Social Security contributions if they'll quit deducting them from my paycheck and shut the program down.
Otherwise, yeah, I want back what I've put into it...particularly if they're going to keep doling it out to people who've put in nothing.
I'm not getting any en lement payments to forgo. And, I only want my money back if they continue the program.
If he's paying 28% he needs a better accountant/tax planner.
