It looks like Mozilla when from doing their Safari thing (in the beginning) to doing their Chrome thing. The tabs on top is just like Chrome. It really doesn't matter to me either way. IE has done the same thing, but in the Microsoft ways, and completely bloated it and made the browser slower than Chrome or Firefox.

I like that you can customize the look up top, like in Chrome. I have the De able Me theme as I like the Minions.

All in all, I like that they streamlined it and made it much faster. It's now my backup browser replacing Safari (which never was as good as the Mac version of course) with IE a distant 4th still.
Safari. I use Mac Pro but I ain't touching that Safari

When Firefox came out, it wasn't quite as fast as Safari. Firefox was more customizable, which was nice, but in the end, Safari was just quicker, which is the most important thing in my book. You can mock Safari all you want, but considering Firefox and Safari were derived from the same code, it wasn't hard to see where Mozilla got their inspiration from, just like now with the new version and Chrome.

    Quite a fail there...

The rendering engine of Safari (aka Webkit) has nothing in common with Firefox' engine. Webkit is a fork of KHTML, who is the rendering engine of the Koinqueror browser in linux (the KDE Webbrowser exactly). Nothing to do with Gecko.

I don't know about yall but with the Firefox 3.xx I was able to open a new tab pretty easy. But now when I want to open a new tab It always seems to open in a new window instead of tab. I use to be able to open a new tab unconscionably. But now I'm catching my self actually having to look at "open in a new tab". I wonder If in the old browser "open in a new window" above 'open in a new tab" Any one feel the same way?
Click on the link with the middle button on your mouse (if it doesn't work, look at any special function you have associated with the middle button).

I d/l FF 4 yesterday. is it still RC, or is it final version? Now I can't go to some websites (for example, the parent portal on NEISD website, so I can check on my son's schoolwork and grades).

All I get with FF 4 is a message about aspx something....

There's another good thing about Firefox 4: website prompts are now just tab-local. It won't steal your whole browser. For example I wanted to post a pic on ST and I click the image button on the quick reply box, usually I need to have the link already because the prompt would steal the window. But now it's not the case.

I use to run FF 3, then switched to Chrome cause it was faster and cleaner.

I just got FF 4 and it seems a little bit slower, and I can't find my bookmarks as easily. Chrome had them in one click. Other than that I don't see any difference.

    Tab Mix Plus
    Adblock Plus
    Forecast Fox
Video Downloader (forget the actual name, will edit later)
    Noscript
    ... more later
I don't understand Tab Mix. I closed a tab to test it and didn't get an open to reopen the closed tab. In fact I don't see anything about Tab Mix after enabling it.

Just downloaded this today, am hoping to put it onto the misses computer so that she can stop complaining there her 150 tabs in 3 windows is making the computer slow... Maybe the memory management will be improved? *shrugs*

As others said, it looks pretty much exactly like Chrome. Interesting about the Tab Groups, will have to have a play around with this and see what the point is. I guess it could be good for hiding spurstalk whilst at work?

Just started using Tab Groups today. Pretty cool feature, but it needs to be smoother.

Still haven't tried it mainly because I'm very happy with Chrome and unless its way better I see no reason to switch. /shrug

The main thing for me is tab management. Firefox uses around 260 megs of memory for 40 tabs, while Chrome uses 930. That's not as big of an issue on my desktop, but on my laptop and older machines it makes a big difference.

Can't say I've ever had 40 tabs open. 20 MAYBE when I'm researching but thats really pushing it too.

CH if you have 40 tabs open then your ADD is at an astonishing level.

I second this. I can't think of a single instance where I would NEED 40 tabs open at a time.

I'm not bothering switching back unless someone gives me a really good reason. Chrome is the best browser I've ever used.

Well, my point was that if you do start to open up 10+ tabs, Firefox allocates memory much more efficiently than Chrome does. The 40 tabs is just something I saw in an online article for comparison's sake, but I will say that as things stand right now I have 22 tabs open. And this is at work. I surf to a website like SpursTalk or Reddit, I open all the links that look interesting so they load ahead of time, then I move to the next website and repeat the process. I end up with several videos that are worth watching, a few articles I want to read, some headlines that sound important or are relevant to my interests, a couple of comments on news stories or tech articles that are good for further information, and a few random/funny/interesting blog links or sites that I haven't been to before. It's the most efficient way I've found of utilizing multiple tabs. I think part of it as well is the fact that I hardly ever use my mouse while browsing... it's done almost all via keyboard commands. Keyboard shortcuts save an amazing amount of time while surfing. It's not so much ADD, but a desire to learn and read as much as possible.

Tab groups is the goods, tbh. Makes sorting a lot easier.

I've been using Aurora 5.0a2 at home (FFox 5), and it's even quicker than 4. Very pleased with the speed on it. That said, if you use add-ons, stay away from it.
