To me it's more a matter of how the teams match-up. I think the Thunder and Mavs would give the Spurs an equally difficult time, but I think the Lakers, specifically, would have more trouble with the Thunder than the Mavs so that's the way I'd like it to shake out.

If the Grizzlies do tank tonight, they are going to look like a bunch of pussies in front of a national TV audience...
I doubt anybody will care enough to put it in such passionate terms.

Here is what we need to hope for

    NO beats Dallas
    OKC beats MIL

If this happens the standings will look like this

    1. Spurs
    2. Lakers
    3. Thunder
    4. Mavericks
    5. Nuggets
    6. Blazers
    7. Hornets
    8. Grizzlies

I'm perfectly fine that the Spurs will draw the Memphis in the first round as long as the Lakers face OKC in the second round. For me, Dallas is the perfect second-round match-up for the Spurs. They have no shot-creators on the perimeter, their centers put no offensive pressure on Duncan and there is practically no travel in between games.

The last thing we want is the Lakers to face NO/DAL. The Lakers will be sitting on their couches fat, dumb and happy watching the Spurs expend unnecessary amounts of energy beating the Thunder/Grizzlies.
No way in the Hornets beat the Mavs tonight.

    I think that's about right.

Seriously now. We are talking about the Grizzlies without Rudy Gay, and the Hornets without David West. I'd prefer NO over Memphis so we have less size to deal with, but really...if either of these teams manages to surprise us in the first round, then there was no way in this team would've gone all the way anyways.

Play to win, and let the cards fall where they may.
Great post. Yes I think Grizz has the better frontcourt. But the spurs have a wayyy better backcout (TP, Manu, hill, Neal) and without Gay ...RJ's suckage will be less of an issue. Unless Mayo steps up big-time (he has had some success vs. Spurs) and Conley can stay with Parker I dont see how Grizz win more than 2 games ...but they dont get swept. they get their first playoff win.

Upset alert. Bulls trailing by 8 with 4 left in the 3rd. Not a huge lead, but still something to watch.

Doubt it changes anything with Pop and the minutes he has planned.

If the Grizz scrubs pull this off we can still get NOLA.

    And go Kings!

Thunder is overrated. We beat them every time we played them this year. Perkins is overrated as well.

The NBA Media picks its darlings. For years it was the Suns and now it's the Thunder.

Grizzlis are in full tank mode. Lakers get NO and a free ticket punch to round two.

I'm not afraid of the Grizzlies one bit, but NOLA would've been nice.

If Sacramento wins, LA gets Portland.

This shaping up poorly. OKC locked into 4, which means Spurs face them in the 2nd. Now we have to hope for a MEM win (unlikely) or a LA loss (meh).

Spurs with a nightmare draw if Memphis loses and LA wins. LA with the easiest draw. I want to punch hole in the world.

OK is overrated. Spurs fans should not fret.
