"Who here would have passed on going after him??"

Repug Pres candidate McLiar said he wouldn't, and called Barry "naive" for Barry saying he would.

I honestly don't understand the desire to name what is an obvious decision that the president should have made as gutsy. It would have been gutless has he passed on this, but that doesn't make this some special order. The president makes tough orders every day. Its his job.
So... By going for it, it was the opposite of gutless, also known as...

    Gutsy?

Its not an either or. I'll give you an example. Osama orchestrated the 9/11 attacks. Attacking civilians in such a way is undoubtedly gutless. That being said, NOT attacking civilians isn't gutsy. I don't wake up everyday thinking not murdering someone today is a gutsy call.

I know, I was just playing around. I still think that it was gutsy, because I don't think the info would've gotten out/been believed. *shrug*

He could've ordered a drone strike instead.

He made the right call, which wasn't easy as there was an option with far less damaging consequences had it failed, and deserves credit for it.

It would have been much safer, politically, to do nothing at all....for many of the same reasons people never take chances at work...it was a gutsy call because to do nothing would have been what most people would do...

I can't help but laugh looking at these clips now. As much as Hilary and McCain tried to twist his words Obama pretty much did what he said he'd do.
