4>0 rings continues his streak of irrelevancy going.
Who was guarding Parker on the perimeter? Was he an adequate enough defender to consistently keep Parker from getting in the lane? Don't be re ed on purpose.

All Star is a popularity contest. Yao Ming gets an All Star slot every year.

ERICA DAMPIER WASN'T GUARDING PARKER ON THE PERIMETER EITHER!!!!!!!! We all know that whoever was playin PG for Dallas was getting his doors blown off from the get-go. WHAT DOES THAT LEAVE!!!!! All the bigs and there so called "help" defense. This includes people like your mighty Dirk.
Did you know that the Spurs have run the pick and roll for over 10 years now??? When a screen is set......THATS THE PURPOSE OF THE PICK AND ROLL!!!!! Get a slower person on Parker....blow by....2 points.

yeah s won it every year, which however only demonstrated their stupidity and ism tbh. e was voted all-star when he was ruled to miss the entire season, just one quintessence of their stupidity/inferiority tbh
its a population contest imho
Jason Kidd has been to many All Star games including 2010. Jason Terry won the 6th man award just a couple years back. Peja, 3x NBA All Star. Shawn Marion, 3x All Star.
You get the point. Add Tyson Chandler as a solid defender and offensive presence in the paint and Dirk wasn't an island.
If the guy's offense was good enough to win 4 rings with a crew of middle of the road players, he would be in the running for top 10 despite his defense and rebounding flaws.
So who on the Mavs do think should have been an all-star but wasn't popular enough to be one?
On defense alone, Dirk is 5th out of the 5 people on this list.
That's 1/2 the game folks. And I'm not saying that Dirk is terrible at defense, but he's not quite on par with the other four. Offensively, Dirk can hold his own with any of these guys, but he loses points for his defense...sorry that's just me.
For that simple fact alone, I cannot put Dirk #2. But like I said earlier, win another ring and I'll quickly do some re-evaluations.
It's a popularity contest. You seemed to have missed that point.
Peja. really?
I'd trade you Peja for Bonner straight up tomorrow without blinking. You'd say "no" just as fast.
Read the thread dip . It was said that the Dirk had no all stars playing around him. Jason Kidd, Shawn Marion and Peja were all stars. TP didn't make the AS this year, does he no longer count as an all star player on the Spurs?
Have people word their responses more carefully and I will avoid using asinine examples.
Jkidd 38yo Averaged 8pts
Peja 34yo Didn't even play the entire year with the Mavs
Marion 33yo Average 12.5pts
No, I don't get the point,tbh.
great exuse. "Everybody else is posting re ed crap, so will I!"
Parker's not in his mid to late 30's either and hasn't declined as much as any of those players.
lol tbh DMC's obtuse as bull in this thread only further cements Dirk's legacy.
The Big 3 in Miami was a Big 5 if I've ever seen it. Or do you mother ers not remember All-Stars Mike Bibby and Juwan Howard dominating?
No you missed the point.
I said Dirk led a team with no all-stars to a ring.
You said the all-star game is a popularity contest.
Now I want to know who on the ing Mavs deserved to make the all-star game but didn't because it's a popularity contest.
Now name some names.
dirk was the only all-star from dallas in the 11' all-star game thats the point, and we don't have no such big population to upthrust a 7'6 piece of E into the ASG.
Oh , forgot about Zydrunas and Magloire.
Big 7.
Comparing a former all-star that's still in his prime(parker) to former all-stars that are way past their prime.
and magloire was da eastern starting C once upon a time, Z was also an all-star in as recent as the 06' all-star game IIRC.
lol Dirk's legacy riding on my words.
lol Dirk's legacy as an offensive powerhouse only. He will always be seeing Tim Duncan's name ahead of his.
Don't equivocate the term "all star" and you wont have these problems.
