    Worth it?

Smart TV is not necessary, but I wouldn't mind having it.

A smart TV would be nice, but if the price difference between a smart TV and a traditional HD set is more than $100, I say forget it. You can buy a Roku that streams 720p for $50 or pay $100 for their most feature loaded unit and get all of the apps that a smart TV would have.

Your best bet really is paying between $60-$80 depending on whether you want 720p or 1080p.

This Sammy has Smart TV and I'll be hooking it up soon. Looks like it will make my WDTV obsolete, since it plays HD mkv's with DNLA which is what I was using the WDTV for.

Yeah pretty much it does what my PS3 does already, although for some reason sometimes they don't play and certain formats you're going to have to check both to see which one it works in..

I have that same TV, and if you have someone else using your internet you might want to go with the PS3, since the TV has a harder time (for some reason) playing it smoothly.. it's great for everything else, if you have great internet and a good router you are good... I really love it.

I think that's the same TV but it's not a Smart TV.. so it doesn't have apps and you can't connect it to the internet/network.. so it's very limited, regardless the display is awesome..

What's the discount? I would imagine the 12-pack for the discount is a pretty good deal for you
I can get the unit you listed for 2300.00

Yes, it's well worth a 12 pack of ty Budweiser (which is all he drinks).

Well for his purposes, it seems to do the trick, plus it has the advantage of being 150 dollars cheaper.

If you want a smart TV, throw in the Roku for $80 with many of the same apps and you come out with basically the same TV for $70 less.

Or if you want to be able to play local media too than get a wdtv for about the same price.

Either/or, the point is, you can definitely do a "smart TV" for less with a little know how.

Those Best Buy financing specials can be pretty nice, provided you pay off before the interest kicks in at like 24%

This is how I got the 50 inch 3 years ago. It was $900 and I got it for 0% for 36 months.

Keep looking because maybe there is a good deal at BB that will mitigate the tax costs. Additionally, at amazon you have to pay it with today's dollars, at BB you may be able to pay it with inflated dollars. LOL

It is said that the end of Jan and beginning of Feb is the best time to get a TV. They have to clear last year's models to make room for all of those that were announced at CES.

Check your local craigslist. Lots of people have buyers remorse right about now as soon as 30 days past from their xmas purchase and they realize they have bills they cant afford because of that shiney new 50 inch hdtv they just bought and they can't take it back now. My cousin got an $700 TV about this time last year for $500 that was like 2 months old.

I'm very happy with my month-old Sammy set. I hooked the wifi interface and as I predicted, it has basically replaced my WDTV for non-HD movies.

I got a Sony media streamer for Christmas and it has so many different streaming channels. It basically turned my tv into a smart tv.

My cousin let me hold his 42 inch TV while he looks for a new place to live after breaking up with his ex.

looks so small in my big ass room. Think I have to go at least 46 inches tbh. At least.
