again, they are protecting their servereignty in THEIR area of the world
How is the Israeli-Palestinian conflict under their purview? Also, one would think they had a bigger grudge against Iraq and that providing IEDs to kill Americans was counter productive.

so we should kill Hugo Chavez too??? great another war!
    He's dying.

Saddam's crazy regime was the lesser of the 2 evils? how was Iran's regime more evil than Saddam's regime?
In the context of our interests there? As far as war-making, the were both atrocious.

    How is it under ours?

No, they rather like the Iraqi people and vice-versa. And who says it was counter-productive? It got Bush to pull out.

The new Iraq government is mostly Shiite which is different from Saddam's. The Ayatollah's will be more sympathetic towards Iraq now.

BTW, Ahmadinejad gets too much attention. He has zero power in that country. It doesn't matter what he says. He doesn't run the country. He can say whatever he wants as long as he doesn't piss off the Ayatollahs. If they wanted to quiet him, they could.

Yep. I've looked at him. He's not a serious candidate.
Which perplexes me. He'd beat Obama with the largest margin of victory. I guarantee it. IF he were the nominee. Conservatives would support him against Obama for sure, anyone but Obama, and the moderates and independents, given Obama's approval ratings, would turn to him as the alternative. Oh yeah,

Well, he's going to get their country annihilated. If I were the Ayatollahs, I'd shut him up.

No he's not. Not everyone flips out to his trolling like you do.

I don't think Ron Paul sympathizes with Iran. He just tries to get people to put themselves in Iran's place. If you were Iran, are you going to tell me you wouldn't want to be able to defend yourself? Besides, there isn't hard evidence that Iran has a nuclear weapon. Personally, I thought the whole "let's bomb Iran" bandwagon during the debate was interesting.
How does America benefit from that?
These GOP bozos need to open their eyes and realize that most Americans don't like war and don't want more wars.
And why doesn't anyone ever talk about how it would be suicidal for Iran to fire on Israel or America? That would be the dumbest thing that they could do. Israel would blow the out of Iran.

The Smackdown the Mainstream Media Ignored: Ron Paul Nails Michele Bachmann on Iran

Congresswoman Michele Bachmann was quick to attack Ron Paul by claiming, "We have an avowed madman who uses that nuclear weapon to wipe nations off face of the earth.”

Bachmann bolstered her argument by claiming, “We have an IAEA [International Atomic Energy Agency] report that just recently came out that said literally Iran is within just months of being able to obtain that (a nuclear) weapon.” To which Ron Paul retorted, “There is no U.N. report that said that… They produced information that led you to believe that, but they have no evidence that there has been enrichment… It’s totally wrong, what you just said.”

A variety of news media sources, including CNN's "Truth Squad" fact checkers concluded that Paul — and not Bachmann — was factually correct and that as Paul said, the report of the International Atomic Energy Agency does not state that Iran is within months of having nuclear arms. The U.N. agency report does suggest that Iran conducted secret experiments whose sole purpose is the development of nuclear weapons, but did not put a time frame on when Iran might succeed in building a bomb, and it made no final conclusion on Tehran’s intent.

Congresswoman Michele Bachmann serves on the House Intelligence Committee and should know what she is talking about when it comes to such a sensitive topic as Iran’s purported nuclear weapons program – yet she was strangely wrong about the IAEA report, an unclassified public do ent. Does she know something the IAEA doesn’t?
