Spurs second-year guard Gary Neal is making steady progress as he recovers from an appendectomy.

Neal could suit up for tonight’s game against Utah against the AT&T Center, although Spurs coach Gregg Popovich doubts he will play against the Jazz.

“I think that will be his choice, but I don’t think he’ll be able to play,” Popovich said. “If he wants to wear a uniform, that’s fine. I’m not sure what he’s going to want to do.”
