Neal is an assassin on offense but his defense is terrible. I'd give Anderson a couple more starts to get out of this funk but it's time to sink or swim otherwise start Green. We need a defensive tone from the start of the game. I'd also start Tiago over Blair.
Music to my ears.![]()
Best quote of the whole thread. Thats worthy of going in somebody's signature.
PS: I'm in. But don't start him, hes more of a closer, not a starter. Let the energy come off the bench.
man if he approaches the every game like tonight, RC will have a long term contract waitin for him....
not clearly wilson chandler level, but i take it over the 2 other players his playin behing on the rotations
I just don't know if our perimeter D has been so horribly bad, but Danny playing tenacious D out there was a sight to behold... I missed all that non-stop hounding since the Bowen days
oi timvp why you posting under koris......i can tell by the tone of the posting
I'm not going to go typical Spurs fan overrating of a player after one game, but Green is pretty impressive at the moment.
No reason why he couldn't turn into a Raja Bell type contributor for a team, good on the defensive end, some at ude and some perimeter shooting.
Come on now, to far Kori.
No one makes love to pressure like 03' Buckets

I'm gonna go ahead and overrate him for you...![]()
I guess that's a lot, since he was only in for 16 minutes - but he was everywhere. He didn't get credited for any steals, but he got a number of deflections. Once he was back defending a 3-on-1 fast break, and came away with the ball. (I don't know how the statistician didn't give him credit for a steal on that one.) He just blew up a lot of possessions for the Warriors.
One play, he was on the baseline as a help defender, and then catching an ally-oop pass on the other end, just a couple of seconds later. Incredible effort, incredible energy, and great results.
Do you remember how George Hill looked on defense, on a really good night? He looked like a taller version of that. And I just don't remember that look since Bowen played. I don't know if he can keep it up, but tonight it was like watching a Spurs game from 5-6 years ago.
In.
Green showed a great tenacity the entire time he was on the floor. Constant pressure. I was remarking to my wife that pressure used to be the norm for the Spurs defense, but not so much anymore. Green kept the pressure dialed up without taking stupid fouls.
Count me in. Let me testify about this guy Danny Green. Ginobli going down is a blessing in disguise. This guy will prove to be a Revelation. Preach on Danny .. Preach.
Thanks for the recap.![]()
If LJ give him anything less than an A+ it'll be a travesty.
I know LJ questioned whether he was even an NBA level player after the scrimmage a month ago but I thought that was extreme. He is and he's a good one.
Oh, he's definitely not even close to JackHe's just has a similar at ude, like he doesn't care what anyone thinks.
danny green was on the court at the same time curry got his ankle injury, green wasnt anywhere near him, but his presence shattered currys ankles....just the sheer presence alone makes him nasty
Danny played great. I felt like he was the player most prepared to contribute going into this season, and he came out and proved it tonight. He has been very solid defensively in each game, but tonight he put it all together.
I love the way he plays ball denial defense.
Keep it up DG, the team is going to need it every night with Manu sidelined.
I liked his post game interview quote: "I'd rather finish games than start them". I'm def on board with this guy, his hands were all over the place, I think Pop's in too.
I think you hit the nail on the head. Anderson just doesn't look confident right now. He will get there, keep starting him.
DG doesn't care if he starts or comes off the bench, he can contribute either way.
Tim Tebow prays to Danny Green.
That alone says it all.
