You have to be very very very good to squeeze 4 championships in the NBA business, out of one of the smallest markets in the ligue.
On, but also off the court, which matters most.
I think Pop is top 5 all time and #1 in this fan's eye, for being the coach of the Spurs only championships. I agree with others that I would like to see him post-Duncan, but also recognize he probably will not bother to stick around.
And what is up with all the lack of recognition of Red Auebach? He is still the leader in the club house in championships. Phil is great, but got some good hands dealt to him. Pop does better with what he has or finds on the court.
