favorite series of all time (spurs)

There's no question that the 2006 Mavs series was the best NBA series the Spurs had ever been in, and easily one of the top five playoff series of all time. Seven games: two going to OT, three regulation games decided by 1 or 2 points, and a near-comeback from 1-3 deficit? Insane. If that had been the Lakers, Knicks, or Celtics in that series ESPN would still be talking about it nightly.

The only one I can personally compare it to would be the 1981 Philly-Boston ECF.

The Spurs also had an epic 1976 ABA semi-final series against the Nets which they lost in seven games, but nobody except for me, Solid D, and maybe a couple other people would remember that.

As far as favorite Spurs series, the 1999 vs. Portland, 2003 vs. Lakers, and 2005 vs. Detroit have to be about the top. Also 2008 vs. Phoenix just for the Duncan three-pointer.
