Not a Pistons fan, but wanted to throw out a congratulations anyways.
Class acts until the end, the Spurs certainly earned this win. Love watchin' Duncan bank in those 17-footers. Anyways, I'm rambling... Enjoy.
No, you're not. You're awesome! Congrats to the Pistons for a fantastic 2005 season. You played you're hearts out and are true champions!!

Props. I enjoy the Pistons as an organisation. After a number of threads after Game 6, I was worried they had alot more bone-headed trolls than I thought.
I really appreciate alot of classy threads.
Much props to the Pistons. They gave us everything and more. Classy team. You had my ass worried for 2+ weeks. All Pistons fans should hold their heads up high.
PS. I still want Rasheed's belt though![]()
Respect to the Pistons and their supporters. Class team, class fans (on the net, anyway).
It feels even better to win this one with such a tough opponent, we really had to play our best to beat you. I still have no idea how we won 2/4 games against a team that averaged 4 TOs during that stretch.
Amazing series, one for the ages. Pity the average non-Pistons/Spurs fan didn't watch it because it had everything you want in sports - rivalries, adjustments, great individual and team performances, nailbiting finishes, stretches of pure basketball genius by both teams, and finally triumph in the face of extreme adversity and pressure.
Wow... I'm beat!
See you next year!
Like I have posted previously, I had the utmost respect for the Detroit Pistons before the Finals started.
But after this incredible Finals progressed, I would have to say that I began to dislike anything and everything about Detroit.
Now that the series is over, the feeling of respect and relief are the emotions that are prevalent.
Congrats to the Pistons and the city of Detroit for a great championship season.
Thanks to the Pistons for this great series. I honestly thought Spurs would own the Pistons but the Pistons are tough. I have to give them a lot of credit. I also appreciate the nice and respectful Piston fans who are on this site.
Pistons > Spurs is an example of a great Pistons fan who has respect for their opponent. Congrats to the Pistons once again and hope we meet up for another great series!
Hey, now there's a thought..best 5 out of 9 anyone?![]()
Congrats again! Horry, Bowen, Tim and Manu stepped up big when it counted! Classy team, players and coach!
You're not kidding. I told my buddy that this could have been a "Best of 21" match and it *STILL* would have went to the last game. A series like this, you just don't want to see them end. Well, at least if you're on *THIS* side of the ball.
Wow, what a game! I wonder how much collective nervous energy was expended by both team's fans last night?
Congrats to the Spurs and their fans, hopefully this championship will forever erase the idea that the Spurs are "soft" and "chokers". That was two "tough as nails" teams going toe to toe last night. There will probably be a lot of people that will call that an ugly game, but I have nothing but the highest appreciation for what I watched last night.
I posted an earlier thread about this series looking forward. I really believe we'll see these same two teams knocking the snot out of each other next year, too. Already looking forward to it.
Again much congrats, and thanks for the heapin' helpin' of hospitality on your fine board here, it's been fun.

I say congratulations to the Pistons, who I think played more great basketball, more consistently, than the Spurs, but in the wierdest way, weren't quite the better team.
The Spurs defense really did pull their precarious nuts out of the fire in the LAST ING 12 MINUTES of the entire series, while they made their 4th qtr shots, and Tim hit his FTs.
I think in the end, with two teams so evenly matched, the difference maker was the home court advantage. Had Game7 been played in Detroit, I think the results would been different.
Right when I was ready to hate Pistons fans, they have to be classy in defeat. Thanks guys and gals. It was a fun series and I can't imagine how it would feel to make it all the way to Game 7 of the NBA Finals and lose. Keep your chin up and let's do it again next season.
Thanks.

Yep...a great series. I'm of course disappointed the Piston's didn't win, I hold my head high this morning. We didn't go out like punks. You guys just had a little more left in the tank.
Great Defense by both teams...clutch shooting by both teams...good coaching, unselfish play...
there are so many reasons that the NBA should hold this series up as the IDEAL for the league, instead of this me-first star-based marketing crap they do now.
Anyway, congrats. If this doesn't convince the Pistons of the need to secure home court next year, nothing will!
Enjoy your well deserved Parade, and we'll see you next year.
ps...the Heat fans still are saying they would have beat the Spurs in the finals. I reminded them that they have to GET THERE FIRST!!!!!
Much respect to the Pistons and the fans that represented them with class. I can't say I hope to do it again next year since DET is the toughest opponent the Spurs have ever faced in the Finals.
Bar none.
Peace.
Dangit, dangit, dangit!
The Pistons fought hard and well but it was destiny for the Spurs to win it out. What a great series by these 2 teams.
The Spurs definitely earned this championship. Defense and offense - what a great team you guys have there.
We'll have to see what happens behind the bench and on the playing surface (it's going to be an interesting off-season for the Pistons). I am sure this is not the last time we see these 2 teams.
Have a great time at the parade! Anyone having a Texas-style BBQ?
Really...ship us some of those ribs, wouldya?

Props to the Pistons and their fans. Man what a ride, and of a series, the best I have ever seen. I could not imagined a better team to play against, Awesome, take care and see you all next year.
I hope many of you Detroit fans stick around here during the off-season and next season. You've brought a lot of good takes this series and with basketball in general. Plus, this place could always use more non-biased (and even opposite) viewpoints. Thanks!
That's ok. You can keep them.
Congrats to all you Spurs fans and the San Antonio Spurs on your championship. It was a hard fought series and a series for ESPN classic. No hard feelings, hats off to you guys. Much props to Rob Horry for still showing that he is one of the best role players in the league and really helping the Spurs this series. This seems like we will be seeing this rivalry for seasons to come! So...enjoy you celebrations, and we will see you again. :-)
Congrats Spurs and Spurs' fans!!!!!!!! I'm hoping to see you guys next June!!!!!!!!!
And to think...David Stern had said this series wasn't exciting enough to get ratings (something like that). This was a uva series with a uva opponent!!! Detroit pistons are blessed to have AWESOME and Classy fans like Y"ALL! All I can say is RESPECT. Respect to the Detroit Pistons. Respect to The Detroit FANS!!! I am definately looking forward to seeing y'all in the playoffs next year!!!
R-E-S-P-E-C-T!!!
Props to all the Piston fans ... we enjoy your takes .... do keep posting on this site
I am so pissed that I didnt get to make my Gone Fishing pics, lol! You guys better make some good ones. I thought that was the funniest thing that I have seen yet on a message board, and it is something that I am going to take with me everywhere, lol. Canont wait for college football and I get to make the Buckeye GONE ICE FISHING!
