Dirk's final wasn't epic either. It was good, but not epic.

He got a lot of help, really. It wasn't like 2003 Duncan where he dominated the other team on his own.

When your second option on offense is one of the best long-range bombers in Jason Terry and you've got guys like Shawn Marion and Tyson Chandler anchoring your defense, you're gonna have enough room to have a great finals run.

Add to that the Heat realizing that the couldn't be handed to them by default and shrinking, particularly LeBron.

Why do you morons think, after 9 years in the league, he's all of a sudden going to develop a consistent jumpshot?

That's never going to come, once Lebron's athleticism fails him so will his dominance in this league. He will not be able to be as effective as Kobe/MJ in his later years, you can take that to the bank.

For everyone who says Jordan didn't develop a post game until later in his career, go ahead and look at Jordan's F/T percentages since coming into the league. His shooting touch was always there, he just never had to utilize it until his athleticism started to fade.

LeBron has been the best player in the game since probably 06-07. Is there anyone besides Jordan and Abdul-Jabbar you could ever say was the best player in the league for 6 straight seasons?
According to you. That's not a consensus by any means.

LOL @ these lists that have Kobe as the best player for one season.

i know it's pretty funny right? like the guy who had kobe as the best in 06 and 07, i'd replace him with wade in both years or wade in 06 and dirk in 07.

come to think of it, kobe has never been the best player in the league at any given point in time.

Only reason he looked good was because he had more FGAs and better FG%

Jordan also believed Adam Morrison would be a franchise player..he was also one of the decision makers and player evaluators on the worst team in NBA history..

He also made decisions that led to his own father's death..

    Jordan's credibility in evaluating players..

Kobe's numbers indicate that he was never the best player in the NBA, but I was generous enough to give him the #1 spot in 2006 and 2007, out of respect for his individual talent, tbh..

Also, as I said countless times, Lebron has achieved the ultimate NBA feat that Kobe never accomplished. Winning MVP and finals MVP in the same season proves certain things that aren't provable any other way.

    Kobe career 3P%: 33.7%
    Lebron career 3P%: 33.1&

Yeah, that .6% edge from range shows how Kobe's J is sooooooo much better than Bron's

his % is lower than other greats because he takes more difficult shots

advanced stats suck, because they downplay Kobe's impact, regardless of the fact that they accurately portray almost every other legend

he loves the challenge of guarding the opposition's best, let's ignore that he was scared of Paul Pierce, and LA has had Fox/Ariza/Artest guard the opposing best player most of the time since 2002

I love it when Kobe fan uses that argument, as if taking bad/low percentage shots is the mark of true greatness

2007 Bryant went out 1-4 in the first with Odom as a #2 option, so no way he takes Boobie Gibson and Sasha Pavlovic to the Finals.

If he did he wouldn't have needed that $4 million ring tbh.
