Might as in well try to get a top 3 pick IMHO. Dirk is going to retire at the end of his contract and we have some nice young pieces that will hopefully play well this season in Mayo and Collison. Maybe get a nice lottery prospect in this years draft that will one day replace dirk when he hangs it up

Stern would probably us in the lottery though.

12' draft is stacked which means the draft pool will be rather weak next year. mavs are a lottery team w/o dirk and there won't be anything available for them to expect other than a high lottery pick if dirk misses the majority of the season. mavs have a good collection of young nigs at hand which gives them a foundation to build for the future, but they will be seeking a replacement for dirk as the leader of this team when the german allah hangs it up imho
