Why is it always bad to be a condescending ? Sometimes people putting forth stupid arguments deserve nothing more than that. Acting as if the number of warships in naval service compared to some arbitrary number nearly a century old is just ing stupid. A modern aircraft carrier can do more than nearly the entire navy in 1917 and it sure as can project more power than the navy could in 1917. How many ICBMs did they have in 1917, for that matter?

I know it played very well with young people that Obama seemed to be more modern and into technology while Romney was stuck a century ago. I think his knocking down the idea that something was so much better a 100 years ago struck a chord with young people who get sick of hearing about things were so much better back in the good old days.
