horry aint goin nowhere, the chance of him leavin is about the same as one of us here on this site makin the NBA, and thats none
so latez yall
I think Horry legitimately prefers the laid back atmosphere of SA...I think he likes the team needing him to take shots(he had to adjust to teamates wanting him to shoot when he first came to SA)...
I think he likes having an MVP partner that, when asked, "what was the difference in this game?", looks over knowingly and says, "Big Shot Bob(by)", with a clear sense of appreciation...and not an MVP partner that says, "well we got lucky and knocked down a big shot to win it while I was being double teamed".
But at the same time...he's not stupid and he's going to know if he's getting lowballed...if he gets lowballed I think he will bail.

lets not lose horry. we wont have a playoff closer anymore.
in 03 we had kerr... in 04 .. we didnt have any.. (hedo?) yeah right.. we had horry but it was just his first season with us.
then 05. it was horrys time to shine... but whos gonna do it in 06? parker? dont think so.
maybe brent? umm..
With championships come dumbasses.
Maybe this should be the logo on the SpursTalk.com t-shirts.

I'd buy one!![]()
T Park! Is that you?
He has some misspellings and he is new so I think it is a possiblity it is T Park.
Brash enough to hit the big shots = brash enough to leave the day after the parade. We've seen this before.![]()
Horry won't be leaving San Antonio, he'll be here until he retires.
As much great Horry was for us in the playoffs, it would be foolish to think our c'ship hope is pinned to just re-signing him. He is of course a key piece but it's not like you have to replace Timmy or Manu on this team - Looking back at '03, we were all over Kerr and S-jax and over a period of time have been able to find better replacements ( yeah, after the hedo saga ;-) )
That being said, Spurs owe him and should grab him with less drama in negotiations - If Peter Holt could be flexible in Tony's case, he better be on this one.
I still think Horry is gonna re-sign , but I wouldn't be too worried if he goes to Miami. As much as I hate Pacers, I'll go ahead and make a bold prediction that they'll be the best team in the East next season.
The Spurs lose the Finals 4-3 to Detroit if Horry doesn't work his magic in games 5 and 7.As much great Horry was for us in the playoffs, it would be foolish to think our c'ship hope is pinned to just re-signing him. He is of course a key piece
End of discussion.
Relax. Spurs aren't going to be outbid by anyone (ie playoff teams). Clearly the agent is doing this to keep the Spurs honest and force them to make Horry an at the market offer, which will likely be about $9 to 10 mil over 2 seasons (whatever the MLE ends up at).
Horry is not leaving.
a. he has stated repeatadly that he is staying in San Antonio
b. his daughter lives in houston
c. Miami doesn't have the $$ to sign him without getting thier priorities all out of wack.
d. If I had an agent I'm sure he could come up with this idea or several others to try getting me more $$ in what might be my final year.
I know this isn't much but didn't Robert say in the interview right after they won the 'ship something about winning another with Tim next year?
Like someone else said, he wants to be close to Houston for his daughter...and Robert has grown into a favorite around here. I can't see him leaving.
some of you get your panties in a wad rather easily.
horry aint leaving, this is simply normal posturing by the agent.
we have his early bird rights and horry will be wearing silver and black to end his career.
now go sit back and have a beer or something. damn.
I can remember in a not so distant past, you were dissing on Horry because of his lack of rebounding. I guess his playoff performance has made you change your mind.![]()
Do any of you really see Horry leaving this team for a Miami team that is only going to get worse this offseason?
shaq has agreeded to an extension with the heat so shaq may gain 90 pounds this summer
1. We won two championships without Robert Horry, so I don't think we're doomed without him. We have consistently brought in vets for minimal contracts who like playing, like the idea of rings and aren't interested in ego. If Horry leaves, we'll do it again.
2. Agents make a % cut of what their stars make. It is to the agent's best interest to posture for more money, because that results in a bigger paycheck for him.
3. Horry has made it very clear, as recently as Wednesday, to the national media, his intentions are to remain in SA.
4. Miami is declining. The East now has had an opportunity to get used to Shaq. Shaq isn't as good as he used to be. They are losing players and the rest are aging rapidly. While Dwayne Wade will only get better, he can't carry his team by himself. Miami has a lot of positions to fill ahead of the back up PF.
5. I believe it was Kori who mentioned a few days ago that she felt this had been the plan all along - for Robert to refuse the option so they could redo the contract for more money if he was still able to play productively.
If I were his agent, I would say he was interested in another team as well.
If this is to be Horry's last couple of years ,in the NBA, might as well get as much money you can from it, right?!
Besides, Horry has said that he wanted to stay with the Spurs and win another one with Tim.
So, my guess is that maybe he feels he deserves more money.
In any case, he better be careful. Money is temptation and if a team is willing and able to pay the guy 5,000,000+, who knows what will happen!
-----------------------------------------
Robert Bahr, who represents Horry, said he informed the Spurs on Thursday that Horry was opting out of the second season of the two-season deal he signed last summer.
Bahr stressed, however, that Horry wants to remain with the Spurs.
"Robert loves San Antonio," Bahr said. "That's No. 1 in his mind."
He said Horry had instructed him to make every effort to keep him in San Antonio.
Hmmm, meaning," Try to get the Spurs to offer me more money. Stress the fact that I would like to stay! Give it your all and if the Spurs can not or they are not willing to comply, I'm out. There's nothing more to do."
BoooooOo!
Money makes the World go around, does it?
In any case, as much as I would like to see Horry stay. The Spurs dont need him. If he wants to play with fire and take that risk, he may get burned.

Didn't the Spurs pay Horry MLE money 2003-2004?
Anyway, Horry was clutch this playoffs, but not the previous two. You can't be sure which one will show up next season. Also, he'll be a year older. Certainly, he deserves some sort of award, but I wouldn't go Geronimo if the Spurs don't sign him.
