No hostility Little dees... I think it's still pussified but its fun pushing buttons with other people's money
Believe in your team or not.

The Stern effect will sway big market a bit makin sweeps & 5 game series difficult. Only hot shooting can negate that effect.

Lakers are at a talent advantage over the Spurs and I think if they max out their talent there is a good chance they can win. IMO they should win. Spurs rely on their system and when it breaks down (in the playoffs this happens with more frequency) they don't have enough individual talent to overcome/compensate for it. Just look at the WCF against OKC last year. Spurs on a talent-for-talent basis aren't on LA's level, and if LA plays with great chemistry offensively and defensively in a potential series against the Spurs, Spurs could very well just fall victim to a team with more talent like they did last year against OKC, with Kobe, Dwight and Nash (and Gasol) hitting all the bail out shots this time instead of Harden, KD, and Westbrook.

That said, LA's days of winning championships are over. They're not gonna beat Miami.

I could argue the 2008 Suns were more talented than the 2008 Spurs (Manu was at the height of his talents, but Parker wasn't healthy and Duncan wasn't as dominant while that Suns team had Shaq, Amare, and Nash) but who won that series?

It was a one-time offer (as stated in my previous thread) and you were too scared to take the initiative then, and jester jumped in. or get off the pot. I'm the one with over a grand in the pot right now (over 1600 if BatManu sacks up), so your "Laker pinkie" comebacks (really witty, btw) fall on deaf ears. Let's end this like we have with the rest of our arguments--with you scurrying away with your tail between your legs.
You really like to try to intimidate people over the inter-webs don't you? I mean, you really take it seriously. Eh, to each their own.

I don't get the point you are trying to make. I never said more talent automatically = win (for the record I think our 08 team was more talented than the Suns 1-7). I said IF LA maxes out their potential, they should beat us. It's what OKC did last year. Unless the Spurs defense improves drastically, I just don't see how the Spurs will be able to match offensively an LA team that is clicking on both ends.

The Spurs should want no part of the Lakers in the first round. It's usually not a good idea to face a lower seed that is better than their record. Remember what we did to the Mavs in '10 and remember how we had spend 6 games beating the Kings in '06 which I think cost us the championship. The point of the first round isn't just to win but to spend as little energy as possible.

    Fools.

Lakers won't make it past the first round, IF they actually still make the playoffs.

ESPN makes the Lakers a bigger focus than any other team in the league...even the Heat. No wonder you see all the blind optimism regarding what the Lakers might be able to do this year.

Based on the media attention, the average fan probably doesn't even realize that the Lakers won't even win the Los Angeles city championships this year.
