No I don't. When a guy has toured the world and been around since the 50's far more people are going to be aware of him than...Katy Perry..it's called...common sense.
Check out any type of ...Music Icons/Greatest Muscical Artists etc etc...you will find BB King somewhere there, while Katy Perry is no where to be found.

If one asks the average American if they know who Robert Johnson and Katy Perry are, odds are that more will have heard of the latter.

How many Katy Perry tunes have been covered? The list of rockers who have done Robert Johnson songs is a mile long. Whole CD's dedicated to Robert.

I have no doubts that Justin Beiber is far more revered "right now" than any of the greats/legends. But not to those who know music.
Nobody here has made the argument that Katy Perry has been more influential to modern music than Robert Johnson or BB king.
The average Joe, in all likelyhood, will have heard of Katy Perry more often than BB King or Robert Johnson or Muddy Waters or Chuck Berry.
