I'll see your "innocent bystander shot by CHL holder" article and raise you with 500 articles of "innocent person shot by bad guy" and 50 articles of citizens with guns defending themselves from criminals.

it pretty much takes just one innocent bystander shot story to negate 1000 civilian hero shoots bad guy stories.

Those CHL heroes have a better hit rate and less bystander casualties then LEO's.
So did all 14 victims just form a circle around the attacker waiting to be stabbed or were they spread out? The attacker had to have moved from victim to victim, at some point a clear shot could have been taken one would guess.
pretty sure most of them were moving. the outcome could have been really bad for a shooter.
