No "we" don't. Just Laker haters like yourself. Him taking it upon himself to get guys like Howard going, is now boiled down to stat padding. Got it.
The team without him barely won two home games to sneak into the 2nd season. How'd that team without him do? Did their defense improve in the playoffs? How about their offense?![]()
Actually it did. After all of the injuries, lack of chemistry, etc. turned our season into a trainwreck, the Finals expectations changed to merely making the playoffs (embarrassing tbh). Kobe's efforts most certainly helped get them there. To say otherwise is being disingenuous at best.
I agree with you here, but I'm also a realist. There were several reasons why they underachieved. These reasons are obvious so I won't delve into the details.
You're funny. Is TD self-proclaimed too? They have basically the same amount of tenure (-1 rang)...It's funny because millions of people want to see the Lakers win (& vice versa). The Lakers are polarizing like that. So of course if they don't win, it's disappointing. I mean look at how many times they played in the Finals to put it into context.
Did 8 cause TD's legacy to come into question? Don't answer that without your miranda rights.
Although i didn't want to admit it at the time, it applies here. Your boy mid destroyed this argument. We had a 72-year old starting backcourt (neither made it through the season healthy btw). Our starting center just came off major back surgery. We just fired Mike Clown and hired Mike _antoni. The beat goes on and on. His teammates didn't performPERIOD. When he went down, they were exposed by the Spurs. So much so, that Pop called it an unfair fight (paraphrasing here).
I criticize Kobe just as much as the next guy. If his play is killing he team's chances at a W, you best believe I'll voice my displeasure. However, I never fault his efforts. He leaves it all on the floor. You might not like him, but you have to respect a player like that.
