god I swear there are some people out there that are 25, 32 .. .even 40 and arn't "mature" enough to engage in those types of activities.

Funny....I used to have a friend in Jr. High that her parents did all kinds of like that, and shared with her. After the intial "You're parents are badass!" wore off the more time I spent with them...I realized I had ZERO respect for those people.
The last I heard, that *friend* is the epitome of "loser". Drug & alcohol problems, 3 kids by 2 different guys whom she never was married to, can't keep a job...and is turning out to be a terminal welfare recipient. I wonder if there's any correlation (not saying there is, of course) between that and the type of parental guidance she got?
And not that this instance is that extreme (since it's the only thing mentioned) but come on. I was like 26 years old when I watched There's Something About Mary with my DAD and it was mortifying. There's just some things that your parents should just NOT be involved with.
well, i'm not so much trying to enforce it as to accept it. it's the same reason teachers that screw their students, though both child molesters and sick, are looked upon a little differently when the teacher is a man or a woman.

i agree on the boundries between parents and children, and you guys are right. this definitely crosses the line.
if this is event was a microcosm of day to day life in the family, then yes, this is a problem, and reporting this to the authorites might have been the best thing.
however, if this is an isolated incident, where the child was rewarded, admittedly inappropriately, but as a one time deal? i'd be willing to say no harm no foul.

Why should it be accepted, Zak? I'm glad that many women are able to overlook the fact that many people will judge their actions by how they adhere or fail to adhere to the double standard. All the double standard does is reinforce the idea of Madonna vs - and the last time I checked, that was only detrimental to women competing in a world where a man can avoid those kinds of labels.

it works against men too was my point. the lady teachers that are screwing their 16 year old students aren't as persecuted public opinion wise as say any older man screwing his 16 year old female student would.
and that is because an adult male taking a minors "madonna" (irony) label away is really taboo.

and yeah, if some parents allowed a male stripper at a party my 16 year old daugther attended, i'd personally go over there and kick the dad's ass...although, it's highly unlikely that a dad would even be present in that family structure. So i'd probobaly let my wife handle it and give the other kids mom a talking to. Even then, now that i think about it? It sounds kind of funny. It's not like boys aren't trying to get into girls pants by 16 anyway. So a stripper sounds more like goofy fun then anything i'd get pissed at.
Serving alcohol/drugs would be another story all together.
Realistically, no, they're not going away any time soon, but people saying things like "learn to accept it" as Zak volunteered, sure as aren't helping. There's a difference between recognizing it and accepting it.

My point was just where do you draw the line? It's ok to buy your underage kid a stripper for their birthday. It's ok to buy your kid and his friends drinks, etc. etc.
I think you need to set a proper example as a parent. Let kids screw themselves up. . .on their own time.
My husband thinks large ties are gross. and if a chick walked up to him and shock her rack in his face he probebly freak out, take a long hot hot shower with bleach and then haul ass to the free-clinic for testing.

well ok not necessarily large then obiwan if a chick with perfectly normal B sized ties just wore a good bra to enhance cleavage and a low cut top then it would still have the same effect..i dont think the largeness was necessary
