I'm just wondering...who did this guy call to get his threat out? Do the Spurs have a hotline or did he just straight up call the cops and report it?

This isn't the first time I've heard about athletes having to deal with this. I heard that the Tennesee QB a few years back got multiple death threats throughout the season. It's all angry fans, and most of them come during and right after the games. The good thing is that 99% of them are hot talk and not serious. But still. I just can't understand what would compel a person to do something like this. It's really not funny.

They probably took it seriously because of the nature of the call. Dude probably said some like he was going to go to the arena and shoot him while he's on the court or some crazy .

I seriously doubt it's some crazy Spurfan either. It's probably a Grizzfan playing at some crazy, even more psychotic version of that movie Celtic Pride where they try to kidnap the opposing team's best player until the Finals are over so their team won.

I remember sitting right behind the Lakers bench a few years ago. That game it seemed like they had extra security with them, and I wondered if it might have been in response to a threat. There was one guy in particular that looked like he must have been ex-special forces, who spent the whole game facing the crowd. I started watching him to see exactly what he was up to, and it didn't take long to understand why he got the job. You could see him notice small movements by people in the crowd and lock in on them. And his attention never wavered - I don't think he blinked for the whole game. Just for the of it, I made a small movement with my arm, like the beginning of a throwing motion. He snapped to me instantly, and locked eye contact, and I was glad I wasn't really trying to toss something at the Laker bench. Out of that sea of faces and bodies, he snapped to my insignificant arm motion. And the look on his face made me think he knew I was screwing with him, and he didn't like it. Serious badass stuff.

I'm sure Tony will be well looked after in the next game.
