In ten years when the Spurs are 18-64 and we're talking about how the new 5th overall draft pick might be a good backcourt mate for Tony Parker, we'll see who the Spurs fans are.
    Amen.

    You were saying?

I am just getting a kick out of a lot of the comments made after I got off line, especially Kori's...

All I was trying to say Is that It would be nice for Spurs to make appearances all over town and not just the northside.

That's not what you said ...

I don't mean to be mean but It just seems like the only people who get to really enjoy the Spurs are the Stone Oaks and The Sonterra's.

The true fans are In other parts of the city, like the ones that cruised downtown after every win, the ones at the riverwalk, and at the Alamodome.

While the richie's just go to the games, have a few beers and run straight home to get ready for their so called next business day!
And the Spurs do stuff at Ingram Mall all the time. That's not Northside.

    You give up what?

You had nothing to begin with but a stupid rant that made zero sense but to you and the NBA players you date.

Kori, Ingram is on the northwest side.

I consider it on the West side, but that wasn't really the point. It's not Stone Oak or any other "rich" area that she was complaining about.

    You're right.

It's more at the edge of the northwest/west line.

I have always considered it northwest.

Since I live on the NW side and it's about a 20 minute drive from me, that's probably why I don't.

The entire Great Northwest (Is that what's it called now because I've seen a lot of signs calling it that when I'm in that area) is pretty big.

To me, everything below 151 is West.

I use the highways as my geographical boundries.

the real hardcore spurs fans are the ones who were with this team when it didn't have a single championship. back in the day when the spurs sucked with no hope in sight. when rockets fans ran their mouth because of the 95 wcf. back when it looked like the spurs were moving to baltimore or anaheim.

a lot of you weren't on the ship back then.
yeah, some of us fans really earned it! Others jumped on after the TD era began, but I've been putting up with the Spurs losing season for a long time! How many of these hardcore fans remember cheering for #21 when good ol Dominique was wearing that number?!?!

Getting picked on in the 7th grade in 1997 for wearing Spurs gear when they couldn't win 20 games without David and Sean but the haters didn't stop me from still wearing my Spurs gear.

    Talk to me about hardcore.

Badly, tell me about it! Back in middle school, I chose to buy and wear my David Robinson Nike Air Force's, even though EVERYONE had Jordans. You can only imagine what I had to go through with my all white with turqoise trim high tops!

SpurGal - .. you date NBA basketball players....
    Get it straight.
Hey did I tell you about the my Night with Eva Longoria?

Well anyway I was driving down I-10 and I saw a car with a flat, it was Eva, I pulled over and offered to fix it but her spare tire was flat also.

Anyway I give her a ride and next thing you know she's all over me , she starts ripping off her clothes, then I hear in the background:

    TACO!! TACO!! WAKE UP!!!!!

Your gonna be late for work!!!

Damn Mrs. Taco ruined another great dream.

And Bruce Bowen will be appearing at the H-E-B at Loop 1604 and Bandera Road from 10 a.m. until noon.

The thing that made me laugh most in this thread was somebody suggesting they call (and expect someone to pick up or give an answer) Best Buy.

[QUOTE=BadlyDrawnBoy]Isn't it those "rich" people that buy those really expensive tickets to the games. that help keep the team in the city. Shouldn't you be thanking them instead of whipping them for their wealth.[QUOTE]

True. I go to 5 or 6 games a year. I sit in the nosebleed seats because it's what I can afford. I sure did not know that made me "rich"; I wish someone would tell my bank that, because they absolutely will not let me have any more of my money.

And, BTW, I don't even live in San Antonio. I live about 25 miles north of the city. I must be REALLY rich.

And, just for the record, I have the (apparently mistaken) impression that all the good stuff (like Spurs' personal appearances) all take place over on Bandera Road. Who lives over there? (j/k)

[QUOTE=BadlyDrawnBoy]There is no true definition for "hardcore fan."[QUOTE]

That's true, too. Even though I go to a few games a year, I enjoy the ones I watch at home on television just as much as the live ones (sometimes more). It's a whole lot cheaper...and less hassle...and no parking problems or riding the Via bus...or getting beer spilled on you by the drunk idiot behind you before the game starts and having to sit there wet for 2 1/2 hours.

But, I have been going to as many Spurs games as I can afford since I had to sit up in the rafters at the Convention Center (I still miss that place!). I sure wish someone had told me years ago that made me rich...I always thought it made me poor.

I did sit in the hotel room at Galveston (instead of being out doing something else) this year to watch the All-Star game so I could see Timmy and Manu play...does that make me hardcore? If it does, I must be a hard core NASCAR fan, too, because I sat in the room and watched the race that day, too...went and grabbed something to eat in the break between the two.

I think that what Spurgal Is trying to say Is that they really don't try to have any Spurs player appearances In other parts of town other then the northside.

Then maybe you should ask her just to be sure.

Funny. They always answer when I call. I guess you just don't spend enough money there.

Oh, and maybe I was just a drunken jackass at the time, but I distinctly remember a Bruce Bowen meet and greet at the HEB at SE Military and Goliad at some point last season.

, when I worked there and for a vendor in there, you could literally stand in the department and hear a phone ring without anybody making an attempt to answer it.

And for the record, unless it's a loss leader, I don't spend ANY money in there.
